Any movies with Medieval theme?

Contributor: lukas24 lukas24
I'm searching for some movies to watch that have something to do with the Middle Ages. Any ideas? And, it'd be brilliant if it's available on Netflix or Amazon (for free with Prime).

Here is a list I found on Wikipedia. Alas, they've forgotten one of my faves, The Princess Bride.

OK...I am a Medieval History buff. Anything and everything I can get my hands (or eyes) on, I will!

I will give you the best and most worthy titles that come to my mind right now...these are MUST SEE titles!

Lion In Winter: About King Henry II and Elenore Of Aquitaine...ohhh, their's was a tumultuous relationship!

Becket: About Thomas Becket; close and personal friend of Henry II...also known as a thorn in the King's side!

Braveheart: Loosely based on Sir William Wallace, this movie has it ALL; romance, drama, action, comedy, love, betrayal. Def. a MUST SEE!!

The Private Life Of Henry VIII: Is there a man more interesting in the world?!

Anne Of The Thousand Days: All about Anne Boleyn, and her struggles.

A Knight's Tale is an entertaining movie...but it is really quite silly, and not about anything in history. I would avoid that one if you want the really gritty, meaty stuff about the Medieval world!
