What do you do when an unmissable live event (e.g. surprise web videocast) pops up and you've already needed to go for a while? No commercials. I eventually just had to go and miss a bit so I didn't asplode. Ah, first world problems.
For the handful of special shows I have to catch live, I always wait until commercial. For the rest, I acquire them from the net which means ad-free, pausable, etc.

meh, I watch my tv on my computer, so if I really have to go, I hit the pause button and let it out. I do hold it as long as possible so I don't have to get up though

Yep, I do that too! LOL I do it when we're watching our boys play during baseball season too. I always say "I'll go once we get our 3 outs" because then you have several minutes while they switch. But of course, that's the one time when they decide to actually get some hits. LOL
