Y'know, I've been curious about it. I don't know how I'd even start though. It also sounds like something of a money sink, and I already have that with my pets, plants, sex toys, and books! At the college I go to, though, there's always a huge group of people in the cafeteria playing, and it looks fun. XD

It kind of is but unlike say Yugioh just because a card is super rare it doesn't give people a huge advantage for the most part. So you could probably find a pre built deck of cards on ebay thats cheap and you should be good to play.

My son used to go to this game card store in Tigard called 'Ancient Wonders' and participate in their 'Magic' game events - it can be a money sink and thank goodness my son's over it.

I used to off and on. I think they coat the paper in crack sometimes...

...just in case anyone was wondering, Sammi has a whole set of "The Dark". I'm totally nerd jealous of her for that...

I used to have YuGiHo (owever it is spelled!), Pokémon, Harry Potter and a few Magic cards as a child. I only kept and actually collected the Pokémon and Harry Potter ones.

My husband has a box of probably over 1000 or so cards from years ago when he used to go to the comic book shops to play. He says there are a fair number of valuable ones in there, but I have no clue what the whole collection is actually worth.

We're hoping that one day we'll be able to pass them on to our son when he's old enough to enjoy/appreciate them, and will only consider selling them if it's absolutely necessary.

I have a ton of cards and decks. My boyfriend even bought me the 'graveborn' deck for my birthday last year. I love playing magic. We've been talking about having some people over to play again soon.

I still play when I get the chance, but I don't buy them as much as I used to. I've never actually counted, but I have probably around two or three thousand cards. I just recently sold a 500 card lot to make a little money and get rid of the cards I never planned on using. I had considered playing Magic Online so I would have more people to play with. Though to get the same amount of cards on there that I have now, I'd have to spend about the same amount I've already spent.

I played alot before I moved to NY. I had a lot of friends in Maine who also played and there was alot of places to go and play tournaments. I then started to play D&D like games but wasnt hardcore into it. I still have a tree deck and my boyfriend has a deck as well. We havent played in like a year. He dislikes be murdered by me XD

I have a couple thousand dollars worth of cards- just in purchase price not in worth.
You'd be surprised at how much some cards can fetch- especially if you get your hands on the power nine haha

I have a fairly big collection and play on and off... depends who my group of friends is at the time. I'd have to say its the best of all the card type games, but yes, its a huge money-pit. You will get addicted and they arent cheap in the long run. Fun as can be though!

I play EDH, it's a simple formant and let me only play when I want to, only need 1 of a specific card, keeping costs down.
