Okay, I got this idea from my friend's dating site. Instead of pictures, we're going to do reviews.

I'll start off, and basically what you do is...

Do you watch the Hunger Games?
Just watched it the other day ... I liked it much better when it was called Battle Royale

Game of Thrones - who are you rooting for?
Who are you rooting for? I am going with King of the North!

Video game movies?
Are rtghere any video games you would love seen turn into a movie? If so who would play who?

Video Game Recommendations
I recently, in the interest of spoiling myself, bought both a PS3 and a Wii (self control issue much, Tori?). I've gotten a few games for each but...

HP let's be serious every fantasy book has been trying to either compare and surpass HP or LOTR.....and they failed(Twilight is an example, even the great Stephen king agrees its crap) . Some do have merit but I grew up with HP so to they are unbeatable.

I haven't been interested enough to read the Hunger Games series, it didn't sound like something for me, so I'm gonna have to go with Harry Potter.

While I quite enjoyed the Hunger Games trilogy, have passed it on to others, and do intend to see the movie, Harry Potter is much better written from beginning to end. Mockingjay, the last book in the Hunger Games series, was a bit of a letdown. I never had that in HP.

Harry Potter, it was a big part of my adolescent years.
I remember actually spending my whole 13th birthday half-hoping an owl was going to bring me my own Hogwarts admission letter. x'D

Hunger games is a bad battle royale rip off. Those books were so bad.

I definitely picked Harry Potter. If you're looking for something similar to it that's actually good, I would recommend The Magicians and The Magician King by Lev Grossman. More like a "grown-up" version of Harry Potter.

It's really not even a comparison, Harry potter was 7 books and is about adolescence and all that jazz, The Hunger Games is only 3 books, and takes place over a much shorter period, which doesn't allow for the character development as much. Plus they are not even the same genre.

I would say I prefer Harry Potter, partially because I grew up with it and partially because The Hunger Games reminds me too much of Battle Royale.

I love all the Harry Potter movies. I have never read any of the books though. So I can't compare book vs movie.

I read The Hunger Games and could not put it down. I'm excited for the movie as I like Stanley Tucci for some reason and he is in it.

I got that sense about Mockinjay.. which is why I haven't read it yet but I never had a single inclination to read HP.

I like both. They're not really even compairable though. HP is about a magically world and Hunger Games is about a dystopia society. I think both are great series with well thought out plots and stong characters.

I assumed we're talking about the books and not the movies (HP is done just as HG begins). But what exactly are you asking?

As just an overall "Which books do I prefer?" I voted for HP. But as others have suggested, the two are not comparable. Different genres, time periods, levels of character development, motifs, writing style, themes, etc.

This question is irrelevant because Harry Potter trumps everything.

Haha, just joking. I've actually never read the Hunger Games, but I know a girl who has and she obbessed, but she's also a huge HP fan.
