It certainly slipped past me. Why is this all of a sudden coming to light? Have I just been living under a rock for the past nine years?

(For those not in the know, the Vanderbilt name is a pretty big deal.)

I saw him interviewed somewhere before, and they talked about his family. The person interviewing him asked him something like why does he work if he doesn't have to. He didn't seem to like the question, he said something like "everyone has to work", I think he doesn't want to rest on the family name or money, which is kind of nice.

Yup, I knew. Did you know he hosted the reality TV show The Mole? Back then, he was an unknown and his only claim to fame was being Vanderbilt's son.

Actually, Anderson Cooper has been reporting for twnty plus yrs. He started out on Channel One. Channel One is a tv news report shown to school kids. Thats where he started.

Yeah..yeah..yeah, I know about Channel One. It was the most boring fifteen minutes of my life in school. I didn't start actually giving a flying two cents about the news until I became an adult and I still don't care for correspondants like Grace, Cooper and Beck. Though, to be fair Cooper is fair less of an arrogant bastard than Beck.

Yeah, I knew that. He mentioned it a few times when he was on CNN. He told a funny story about how he invited her for Thanksgiving and she said she'd "cook." He said hours late, a limo pulled up to the door of his home. There was a perfectly cooked turkey in there, no side dishes, no Gloria.

"Stood up on a holiday by my mom. Wow."

He's so cute, but... unavailable......

I have known for years. I don't think it was a secret.
Actually, I think I was only about 15 or 16 when I found out. I've always loved him. He's such a sweet man.

Remember when he was reporting in Hurricane Katrina and he always blew away on live tv. They had to cut the feed to he could stand up and go inside?

No, no I don't. I didn't watch a single stitch of coverage about hurricane Katrina. I had just turned 24, and I was running a business by myself by day and partying by night. There was no time for television. (Of course, I know the magnitude of the event. I just wasn't going to watch a consistent loop of coverage on the same five things over and over again.)

The media is a really sore spot with me for a variety of reasons. And I hated being told I HAD to pay attention to Channel 1. It was usually followed by a question we had to write an essay on...it was just not what I wanted to be doing first thing in the morning. I really try to avoid newscasts like the plague these days.

And I'm not angry, I'm passionate.
