Are you worried about it?

I have heard countless times that microwave ovens aren't the best for anyone because of the weird waves... W/we use it but I still remember those things and it weirds me out a little, and I wonder how it will effect U/us, if it will anyway...

Are you worried about your microwave oven?

No.... the waves are mostly/completely contained within the microwave if it is working properly. If they weren't, you would notice quite quickly. Microwaves heat your food by heating up the water molecules within it. If the microwave was not protecting you, you would start to cook from the inside out if you stood near the microwave in action.

I worry about my microwave oven--he just isn't as talkative and outgoing as he used to be.

nope, it's been decades since their creation and the evidence is inconclusive on any problems. Plus it's not as though microwaves are a multibillion dollar industry like cigarettes (especially now that Jack Donaghy is gone). Laptops and wifi however are making us sterile. That's one of the reasons why my laptop is my friend.

I don't worry at all. The microwaves are well contained.

My husband works with industrial strength microwaves and they have ways of protecting the designers from those, so I know my kitchen microwave is safe.

No, not even a little bit. As others have said, the waves are completely contained if your microwave is working properly, and if they weren't, you'd know right away.
