Do you actually wear your seat belt?

I got a seat belt ticket a few years ago. Ever since I've always worn it... now, if I don't, I don't feel right, at ALL! LOL

I always wear a seat belt, the statistic on death, dismemberment, brain injuries and morbidity without seat belts are SO high, it would be ridiculous to not take the 15 seconds it takes to put one on to risk your life.

No. I would be dead right now if I would have when I was in a wreck. Now I mentally can not even think about wearing it!! Cannot do it!!!

Everyone who rides in my car, family or not, wears a seat belt. If I had a car accident, my insurance wouldn't cover it if we weren't.

I always wear mine. It is common sense in my book.

I always wear my seat belt. It's more of a habbit and I always automatically buckle up whenever I get into a vehicle.

In my state, it's the law and the fines are significant. When I'm a passenger, I'll delay putting it on just to be rebellious/lazy, but when I see police I usually at least cross it across my chest as I pass by them. When driving further than a couple of blocks, I always wear it.

I know I should and it's probably stupid that I don't a lot of the times. My excuse is I'm short and it's always tearing into my neck. I do on the highway and holidays or I throw it on when I'm coming up on places that cops hide around here to catch speeders. My car even has that annoying "ding" that goes on for like 5mins to get you to put your seat belt on. I need to start doing it every time. It really is stupid and lazy of me not to and now I feel like a horrible person for not doing it lol. I will start getting in the habit of doing so.

I always wear my seat belt. ALWAYS. Sometimes I have a hard time remembering if I'm sitting in the back seat, but that rarely happens anyway.

I nearly always wear my seatbelt. I don't if my driving territory is more surrounded with water than with other cars, though. On your way out ice fishing, a seatbelt is only going to endanger your life...

Usually not during city driving. After some interesting research into injuries created below or above 35 mph, I found that more injuries occur from using the seatbelt at lower speeds, than not using them at all. At higher speeds I use them, getting ejected from the vehicle just doesn't sound too exciting to me. With lower speeds, when the seatbelt locks, catches as you are thrown forward, your body rotates around the shoulder harness creating a twisting, torquing of your upper back/neck areas as your pelvis is held down. This usually creates some really nasty injuries at even slower speeds of 10-15 mph. Even though this research is out there, and readily available to anyone, it probably won't work as a defense for not wearing your seatlbelt, sorry, I know that sucks, but it is what it is.

I always wear my seat belt. If I'm driving I won't go unless everyone puts theres on. I have lost way to many people in my life to car accidents. I hate driving. I have so much anxiety while driving it's like tourture.

I always wear it when I'm driving, but I can sometimes forget if I'm a passenger with hubby driving the truck. That's the only vehicle that it slips my mind. I'm a nervous passenger with other people.

Free EMT advice, if you are ejected from your vehicle, you are about 6x more likely to die from the accident as a result. So whatever the risk of dying may be as a result of wearing a seatbelt, it's one I am willing to take.
Good to know. I agree.

I always wear mine. I've been in a car accident and rear ended in the past, and I would never risk it. Even though it causes discomfort/pain upon impact, I would have rather that then flying out of my car.

It is an automatic response for us to wear our seatbelts. I hope everyone with children makes sure they use seatbelts and car seats.

My husband always wore his. I didn't bother....felt confining, till my best friend was rear ended by a dump truck. She was half in and half out the windshield. She died 30 minutes later, unrecognizable to her family due to her massive facial injuries. Only her rear bumper was crushed and the trunk slightly deformed. Had she had on her seat-belt , she would have WALKED away from that accident, probably without a scratch. I will NEVER get in a car again, without immediately belting up. It was a very, VERY costly lesson in how delicate and breakable WE are.
