Do you agree with the saying, " don't judge a book by its cover"?

I will admit, that sometimes I judge people based on their appearance, but I'll explain!

I have great intuition and usually, if I look at someone and get the feeling that something isn't "right" I will avoid them.

I also tend to become friends with someone (or not) depending on whether they have a "kind" face. It's hard to explain because it is specific to me, but I just trust my intuition and the instant feeling of either "yes be friendly" or "No avoid them" because I feel it keeps me out of danger.

I can't help but make so decisions about people based on first impressions. Once I get to know them I might change my mind though.

I used too when I lived in Canada, but since moving here, I learnt very quickly that people "wear" their money so people will think better of them rather than get to know them.

For me, I try to get to know a person a little bit before I let my guards down around them. And I have usually found that the people who I end up avoiding and not wanting to be around are those that wear their money.

That's sad to dress to try and get people to like you I've noticed that as well, especially in areas closer to poverty. It's almost like people are embarassed for you to get to know them if they don't have a lot of nice things!

I guess it depends on the person. If they make themselves look the way they are, then I might judge. If they are that way naturally, I tend to feel sympathetic because it isn't their fault.

I judge more on behavior than appearance. But there have been a few times when my judgements were way off. When I was younger I think I was more appearance-judgemental . The first time I met a couple of my best friends I thought they were ugly/unpleasant/etc.

I usually make the judgement of whether or not I feel safe around this person based on my gut feeling when I first see them. After that I tend to work off of that basis.
