Depends on where you go... A great Sunday brunch can be heavenly... But I like your idea of a Chinese buffet!

I've never eaten at a buffet style restaurant. I've been to a buffet at a resort or country club & like those because I can always find something to eat.
Any of the buffet restaurants around here are not appealing to me because I don't trust the quality or safety of their food.
I can't eat much at once, so getting a deal isn't one of the reasons I'd go to one. I don't have anything against them & I hear there are some great ones in Vegas.
I also don't mind eating in front of a date, so sure, I'd go to one on a date. (I figure I might as well start without any illusions I would have to maintain later if we continued to date.)

Not my thing. I will go to an Indian buffet, if there's one around. My problem is more with the quality of the food and my own eating issues. I get full really quick and have cases of easily upset stomach.
Golden Corral is one I REALLY don't like. It's all fried, prepackaged, warmed up, etc "fud".

I love buffets. Especially when I return to North America for a visit. Then I get to have all the foods I have missed in one go.
They are fine as a date night... once you've been dating for a while.

As for dates? My first and second date were to "buffet" places with the guy I ended up marrying and being happy with for over three decades.
It was far more a matter of who the guy was, and how the date went, then where he took me. In fact, we were pretty poor college students at the time and I was thrilled he invited me "out" at all.
I was not at all "offended" and that is how I nabbed a great guy. (Oh...and don't get into that "cheap date" thing. Yes, we were poor at the time and it was indeed a "cheap date". I am glad he didn't go broke or put on "airs" about what he couldn't afford. Time and hard, dedicated work has not changed him a bit, but has allowed him to now be as generous to me as he wants...and me to him!!!!

I am an event planner and while I rarely use a buffet style catering service they do have their place.
They are great for keeping costs down for things like weddings and engagement parties. Allow for better networking opportunities at corporate functions.
I don't really eat a buffet restaurants, simple cause there aren’t a lot around where I live.
The one time as an adult I have tried it, it wasn’t that great and I think that would put me off using them again.
