People older than 20s use it. They totes use Twitter and Facebook until they're cray-cray. Hashtag talk has been on Tosh.0 and @midnight like forevs. It's amazeballs that you'll hear it in commercials by Sprint and Jack in the Box.

Um....I am in the 50 something age group and I use the word "Hashtag" in everyday conversation. I am in a very high technology field and use all the different electronic media to communicate with my co-workers and keep up on needed events. I know I am using the term "in context". I assume you are implying these "20 something's" are as well? If not, how are they using the term?

I see people of all ages using hashtags in social media all the time, but haven't heard anyone include it in spoken conversations yet.

I don't know how they're using it. I just heard on the radio recently that it frequently happens.

Hahahaha that was fantastic. Thankfully I don't come across people that talk like this. I love the Sprint commercials though.

I don't know in anyone in that age category, but hashtag is used frequently by a lot of people bitten by the Twitter bug.

That's hands down the most upsetting thing I've heard all day! I hope it's ironic at least.

I selected no and other for a reason.

I have heard it in everyday conversation when someone is quoting something they are reading online from facebook, instagram, or twitter.

But, I've never heard anyone use it in conversation like they... actually meant it. It was more of a sarcastic tone, or joking tone that they used it in.

Well what I want to know is when Twitter pukes and dies and is replaced by the next big thing, will they edit the entry?

I have no idea. It used to be a respectable publication, now I'm seriously wondering just what in the hell these people were thinking.
