Edengames seems pretty dead. I'm curious; why?

Contributor: MagneticDuke MagneticDuke
Hello. It's right there in the title, really, there doesn't seem to be really any activity in the Edengames subforum, and I'm just wondering why that is. You guys seem pretty creative, and I do remember a thread about the "fun" on Eden possibly being done. I'm just curious why that subforum's dead. Lack of inspiration? Fear of point farming charges? Nobody cares? I really want to know.

So around last month, I posted something about thinking about having a sex toy party, and I finally worked up some nerve, and asked a few people. And.

You must not know about the changes that occurred two summers ago? In June '13, after a few months of behind the scenes trying to curb the problems with point farming and the abuses happening that were bleeding the company, the owner announced big changes. Part of that involved changing the points system and also closing certain parts of the forum. EdenGames and the clubs were closed and all the people we dealt with before as admins were fired (one came back but only stayed until Feb '14 before being let go with no replacement). Unfortunately, there was never one place where things were all explained and posted for people to reference, so if you weren't here, you missed out on a lot. Plus, you will still find remnants of previous rules and guidelines which makes it extremely confusing for new members, as well as retuning ones.

If you, or anyone else, has questions, you can certainly feel free to send me a PM and ask about things and I will do my best to help you.

For now, we are still on our own in the community and have no forum moderator or Eden employee to contact with our questions. You can open a support ticket for order questions, or contact a newer employee, Natalya who is in charge of the review programs (it appears so because she has posted about it on the forum, but no formal announcements were made about her role which may include other things, so who knows?). And just so you know, Natalya announced there will be changes to the review program this fall and we are awaiting those. In the meantime, she asked for applications to participate in the Direct Reviewer (DR) program where selected members write the technical reviews posted on the web page for the product. She recently made her selections and they are working on their product reviews. Other than that, there has been little activity on the forum. So many people left after the initial changes and more left over time due to the lack of activity here. However, there always are some people checking in; you just have to give it a little more time to hear back from people compared to before.

Thanks for the info. If I remember correctly, I joined in Aug. of 2013, and it was a while before I noticed we even had a forum here. That said, I'm sorry to hear that a problem with point farmers and other problems basically crippled the community. From what I've seen, the people here want to keep the community going, but it looks like things are gradually dying out.

Maybe we can send a suggestion to Natalya about modifying how the points system works in regards to the forum, such as excluding the Edengames forum from the points system or only allowing very limited point gains in Edengames, perhaps one point per post, limit of 5 per three-day period? If we can get Edengames running again, that might revitalize the community.
