Soap and water are what I prefer, but since a sink isn't always avalible I do use the sanitizer occasionally. Where I work I put a bottle of hand sanitizer by evey box of kleenex. I hope this helps keep us all healthy!

A hand sanitizer is no substitute for washing your hands with soap and water. It should only be used as a temporary measure until you can wash properly. Having said that, most people don't even wash their hands properly. You should wash for at least 15 seconds.

I had a nurse friend of mine tell me that hand sanitizers are almost totally useless. The product must stay in contact with your skin for at least 45 seconds. But the alcohol in the product makes it evaporate long before it has a chance to kill any germs. Plus they tend to dry out your skin quickly. dont know for sure... thats just what i was told
