If you have, would you do it again?

I have given blood before, but didn't really like the experience. I'm not sure if I'd give it again or not.

Since college, I've been on a medication that prevents me from giving blood. I haven't donated since high school but I'd like to again.

Yep, wanna see my 2 gallon pin? I've been giving blood as often as I can since I turned 16. My mother works for the red cross and has always encouraged us to do if we can. I'm proud to say that I give blood and when people give excuses I just look at them more often than not and say something like "Really, that little needle is what scares you. Ever think how scary it is for a family who could lose a family member when there's not enough donors to save someones life?"

The Red Cross is currently work to do away with that rule. It was put into place almost 30 years ago and advancements in science are proving that it's no longer needed.

I've donated 3 times and i plan on going again soon when i can find someone to go with me. I get lightheaded and nauseous and really hot.
I've never passed out but I don't want to take the chance and go alone.
I am A- and they always have a high need for my type in my area.

I tried once but my veins were too small...it would be fine if I started chugging water 3 days in advance, but I keep forgetting each time.

I donate my blood every opportunity I have. I'm also registered as a bone marrow donor. I think that any momentary pain or discomfort is worth it if it saves someone's life.
