Don't feel silly! It's good to vent, and you've given me a chance to talk about my experience today as well!

I may not live with my parents, but I depend on them heavily and I am very lucky that they are difficult to offend. A lot of dads kind of want their daughters to stay little girls forever, and so sex toys come as a shock. It's awkward to explain things and be honest about how you feel. Now I feel like I have to explain that the huge feeldoe is designed for two people, not just one. He would probably be mad, but he knows that if he complains, I'll probably make a nasty comment about his skidmarked underwear lying around the house or his massive porn collection on the DVR. Worst of all, I walked in on him watching Twilight last weekend.

I don't keep my room clean, either. I kept my lingerie in a bucket at my parents' house, and recently the cats have delighted in the little dangly garters and have been dragging them all over the house.

It seems that EF packages arriving when we're not here is a very dangerous thing, especially after reading your story and Sbear89's story!

How's your tummy doing?

I'm sorry to hear that!

The military does wonders for a lot of people and their careers. I don't think it's right for me personally, but I think it provides a lot of great opportunities, training, scholarships, and experience (not to mention health insurance and citizenship!) for many good people. Of course, it's a decision to think about for a long time, not a decision to make because you need somewhere to go because your dad found your EF package (in this case).

OK - I'm the father of a 20 year old - I do not open her mail and if I were to find something from EF, I'd get a good chuckle out of it.

But in defense of your father - I've told my kids that as long as they live at home I make the rules - when they find those rules no longer tolerable, they are welcome to move out.

It's your move - literally!

if ever does escalate to him kicking you out go to the police and postal police- don't even tell him its illegal (bc then he won't admit to it).

That sucks. Ive worried my brother would do that because we're all living with my mom right now and hes a bit nosey. They have snooped around my room before and found things they shouldnt but never a sex toy. I got so mad at them and it is an entire invasion of privacy. Its just wrong once were adults. Just stay strong because you dont have to be there forever and you do have he right to do whatever you want. Good luck.

do you think having severe ibs and and urgent need to go number 2 many times a day and follow a very specific diet dissqualifies me?

I know several people in the military currently who have severe IBS.

Bloody hell. Sounds like your parents (dad) has no respect!
If my dad did that, I'd tell him to F**K off cause no one has any right to open someone elses mail.

I agree - you seriously need to get yourself a PO box so your mail is kept private!

Sounds like moving out is the only way. Believe me, it's a hard SUPER hard transition.
I moved away and being away makes things difficult, but now I just live with a roomie who gets a giggle out of my packages and oohs and ahhs at some things. I like that my boyfriend can come over, and we can lounge around.

A lot of stress but it feels good. I'm also 23. I've been in and out of the hospital since with something the doctors can't even tell me what it is.
I've almost vomitted on a classmate in massage therapy class many times, cause I can't hold food down.

Your body will be happier if you lower your stress

Yikes! I hope this blows over. That sucks that you can't have your privacy respected. Like others have said a P.O. box might be something to look into but that doesn't solve the problem of the general lack of respect for your privacy. I wish I had some more ideas for you.

how do they deal? I mean if you have to urgently have bm's in the middle of nowhere and you must have hot water, antibacterial soap and plenty of toilet paper and a finger nail cleaner at all times..what do you do? Did they chose to go willingly? My ibs is so severe I have to use my finger to evacuate most of the time..I don;t mean in like 3 hours my problems are alldone. I mean it goes on like 15 hours a day often more.

I got distressed heart spank her. While I haven't had my bf use it on me..Well I tried it on myself it is awsome!

Well now that he opened my mail its like he's uncomfortable with my boyfriend coming over. He was like when he picks you up at 11 on wensday is he dropping you off and leaving or is he coming inside. I get the feeling there will be alot of interuptions with him perhaps evesdroping outside my door or knocking. My dad is very nosy.Perhaps not..It may take a long time before he forgets about it.He probly won't. It's his own fault for opening the box. I had him open an ebay package that was obviously a dvd because he thought it could be porn. My mail probly freaked him out. He probly thought it was my boyfriend's idea. It doesn't help my dad thinks my boyfriend just comes over to have sex. Between my ibs and our conflicting work schedules(which is because he lives an hour out of town I get off at 11 and he gets off at 7 to go home most of the time)ya it's all pretty awkward. From now on I will lock everything up good and make REALLY sure I don't even have 1 single unopened condom packet laying around he even commented on that.

Why don't you propose a contract with your father. Since you cannot afford rent elsewhere, and you have said previously that you make roughly 1000 dollars a month (which is more than MANY people I know who live on their own by the way), it seems like you would easily be able to shell out a couple hundred a month to contribute to household costs. In exchange he might be willing to fix the lock on your bedroom door, and more willingly respect your privacy since you are a grown woman and furthermore entitled to your own sexual life and preferences.

My dad found a joint in his step-son's yearbook. At dinner that evening, right before his baseball game, my father looked him dead in the eye and said you have two choices: move out or join the Navy. His step-son enlisted the next day and has turned into an amazing human being with a lot of skills and determination.

It's a tough road but it's one I believe is really beneficial to certain personality types. I have often thought it would be a good idea to sentence petty criminals and offenders convicted of non-violent crimes to commit to two years enlisted. Supposedly, most of those people want to be involved in a close-knit group of people and there are no closer set of people than members and veterans of the military. I grew up in a military family of sorts. My grandfather retired from the Air Force and my father was in the Navy briefly in his early 20's.

I always support going into the military if there is no other viable option available. There are many different careers and fields to go into from there, interesting ones at that.

Get a P.O. box, send your packages to a close friend's address (after consulting with them of course), or find a new place to live. Not a whole lot you can do, sorry you have parents that feel its necessary to invade your privacy & disrespect you in order to 'keep you safe.'

Opportunities that were once available aren't there anymore. Unfortunately for many who would perhaps benefit from a turn around, criminal activity now excludes one from the possibility of military service.

I agree with the suggestions to get a PO box, they're really cheap. Then start the apartment search! It might take a little while to save up enough $ to move out, but it sounds like it is way overdue. Check Craigslist and various apartment search sites, you might be surprised at what you can find. I'd way rather have a not so great studio apartment than be stuck living in a bad environment.
