I used to suck my thumb when i was younger && i stopped before it could do any damage to my teeth! But recently i've been having the urge to start sucking it again, whether it's for comfort or just to do it. Sometimes it makes me horny =/ Which is kind of weird to me....

i sucked my middle and ring finger on my right hand til i was about 12. i stopped much earlier than that but it was reported by teasing sisters that i was caught doing it in my sleep as late as 6th grade.

you can still see the mark on my middle finger on the right hand.. it deformed on knuckle a little. has a little bump there.


i would suck my fingers and rub something silky.. usually a puffalump or other stuffed aminal.

when i was in 3rd grade my parents took my puffer and hid him in the attic. i though he'd run away. i still remember staying up what felt like all night crying and praying to god to bring my puffer back. it was the only way i could go to sleep. i never did it during the day, but just to go to sleep.


in my mind it's similar to breastfeeding, the suckling action. it's a form of self comfort. i could go freudian on you now but it'd just be a bunch of bullshit.

I used to suck my index and middle fingers on my right hand... until I was in the 3rd grade, I believe. I haven't done it since. I actually tried it once as an adult and it didn't do anything for me... at all.

when we moved the summer after my parents took my puffer, i was helping them clean out the attic and found it. i was IRATE. my parents just shrugged it off. one of several things i've never really forgiven them for. that and telling me santa was fake. after telling me he was real. for years.


this may be partially why i never really believed them about jesus after that. to me he was the same as the santa story, just younger. and no sled.

And the middle finger sort of 'leans' toward the ring finger, too, right? Definitely from hand-writing - I have it, and I was never a finger sucker. (But I did suck on my hair for a couple of months when I was eight ... rather stressful time in my life).

YES! And I tend to press really hard when writing too... which I'm sure doesn't help.... that's probably what it is!!

And all these years my mom tried to blame it on me sucking fingers!!!!

I used to suck on my hair as well. I also used to have trichotillomania (pulling my own hair out) as a child. I definitely think it was stress-related.
