Toy Swap Club. You Into It?

That's where I think it will get really tricky.

Anything EF does, and they pull off a lot of amazing things, takes tons of time, work and communication between several departments. They put a lot of work into a simple club or community thread and then so much more has to happen behind the scenes.

Anyways! There are a lot of people on here who I would trust with my info, but what about setting up PO boxes? If someone really wanted to do toy swap they could do that.

Has anyone brought this up in a community planning meeting? I haven't been to any as of recent, but if no one has that would be a good place to start. Or an email to gary or someone who can give more information. less

Just lastnight when I was up until 2AM trying to make room for toys I used one time and never touched again, I decided I HAVE to find someone who wants them. I cannot throw them out!

I doubt I will want to recieve vibes or dildos that have been used, sterilizable or not, but I would like to give mine away if someone wanted them.

So, some of this has been said, but in bits and pieces, so I just want to get my whole opinion here:

I think as long as there is a disclaimer saying that EF is not responsible for anything that happens in the toy swap club (not getting a package, getting something 'dirty', getting something that isn't as expected, etc.) and is excluded from any liability in a transaction between two private parties, that it will be okay on the legal end. Just like how they do it on craigslist.

I like the idea, because I know the people here are smart, and educated. I agree with the 5+ ranking (although, I think maybe 5.5 is better... it gives people something to strive for, and if you have a couple of really good reviews off the bat, it's not hard to get to 5. I was at a 4.9 after my first 2) AND 20+ reviews done.

I would be much more apt to swap a toy with a group of that caliber, rather than buying off of the EF classifieds, or somewhere else.

I don't think that we should outlaw 'unsterilizable' toys, because what about the ones that haven't even been opened?

I think this is a GREAT idea, and if you need any help to organize and maintain, I'd love to be on board if it takes off! less

I think that lots of people think about this because of Dangerous Lilly's community. However, I know that Lilly not only puts tremendous amounts of hardwork into her admin sector, but also that people have been known to scam others. Now, obviously you can try to limit this with whatever requirements you want, but keep in mind, hers has requirements too. With a much smaller pool of people. I am not opposed to seeing it here on EF, but as far as regulating it goes, I think it will take a lot more effort than you think. JMHO. less

thank you so much for all your input, everyone. I'd still really love to try to give this a go, with the following guidelines..

I think self-policing and common sense are good main rules to have. If someone is reported abusing the system, not completing swaps, selling toys, etc., they will be removed from the club. Looks like 5.0 is the rank most contributors would like the minimum rank to be for membership. I think general guidelines should be lain (sterilize your toys, only swap with folks you know, be honest... etc.) and from there folks can use their best judgement.

EF would hold no legal liability to folks' own swaps, which would be within the community, but a separate part, same as with the Classifieds section.


Those who wish to not swap unsterilizable toys will not swap those kinds of toys. We could encourage sterilizable toys only, but of course new-in-box toys that were never used for one reason or another would be fine. No policing of what toys are up for swap, etc., would be done.


Simply put, if someone is being dishonest, it would be reported to the club moderator, and that person would be removed from the club. Simple as that.

great idea... but hold that thought! we'll need to get approval from sam and gary, who've been discussing and bouncing back and forth the idea and specifics for a couple months with me now. we'll see what they have to say, and hopefully we can soon go ahead and create the official club!

Huh, I hadn't thought of that! On the one hand, having things on wishlists makes things really easy to sort.

On the other hand, it's harder to list things that Eden doesn't carry (like what if I don't like my Split dildo?) (Although, for that particular dildo, it's already claimed if I don't like it. But still, the quandry is possible.) less
