That's a good question, bringing this up at a planning meeting might be a good way to find out if this is allowed before fleshing out the how-to's of going about this group.

If you're going to do it that way, then everyone might as well join the Toy Swap community that already exists..?

I'd try it.

Just lastnight when I was up until 2AM trying to make room for toys I used one time and never touched again, I decided I HAVE to find someone who wants them. I cannot throw them out!

I doubt I will want to recieve vibes or dildos that have been used, sterilizable or not, but I would like to give mine away if someone wanted them.

Lingerie, absolutely! I'd be all for that.

This is how I feel as well.

Ok I changed my mind, I use a sterilized thing at the gyno, at least I can re sterilize this, I am in.

If you were to get a used toy, you should re-sterilize it a few times before using. Just make a disclaimer about that.

Only sterilized stuff, even if unopened since that could be a lie.

I like this idea a lot for its environmentally-friend ly aspects... And it does seem like a nice concept, enabling people to get toys they like but probably couldn't afford before, as well as to "recycle" their old ones.

Even though I think it's a fantastic idea, I wouldn't do it. Even if the materials are completely non-porous and the like, I still feel iffy about it. Mind you, I am pretty ridiculous, and it's likely not a concern with proper sterilization.

In any case, good luck to the club as a whole! I hope it soon becomes a reality.

I really like this idea, especially if we can find a way to screen members before they join.

I would not SWAP, per se, but I have SO many toys that are BRAND NEW...never used (got them, saw them, said "it is TOO BIG" and didn't want it. SO into the closet it goes, or others where they were used ONE TIME and I said "not for me" for whatever reason...so into the closet it goes. I would LOVE a means to rid myself of these. Just cannot bring myself to throw them out, even though I did toss out 1000 JELLY toys recently. Some were, honestly, tacky from material breakdown over time.

I think this is a good idea, but should be limited to lingerie and toys that can be sterilized, or things that are unopened like toy wipes, cleaners, etc.
This could also utilize the EF classifieds to post up wanted lists and items to swap lists.

bump.. this could still become a reality if enough people are into it!

to add to this maybe a way to rate the swap transaction afterwards and if enough people are dissatisfied with a person they don't get to swap anymore.

I have never heard of Dangerous Lilly and I am sure that people newer to Eden would like to participate as well.

I just wanted to point out that you can't actually sterilize the toys unless you use an autoclave or something similar. You can only sanitize them through bleaching, boiling, etc. Sterilizing actually eliminates all living microorganisms - bacterial, microbial and so forth. Sanitizing doesn't do that. It's nit picky, yes and pedantic. And now I feel a little bad for even mentioning it.

This sounds like a better and better idea the more times I look at the pile of 'misfit' toys in my closet! I still haven't heard back from the Toy Swap network, but it HAS only been 12 days!

I don't think this is something I would participate in, but others can make that choice for themselves.

I don't mind swapping. I've done it with silicone toys before.

I wouldn't swap toys cause I only like new items - in everything I buy. But I think it's a good idea for those who wish to swap. Besides, because I'm overseas it's just not really practical to swap.

Lingerie (without panties) is a good idea.

thank you so much for all your input, everyone. I'd still really love to try to give this a go, with the following guidelines..

I think self-policing and common sense are good main rules to have. If someone is reported abusing the system, not completing swaps, selling toys, etc., they will be removed from the club. Looks like 5.0 is the rank most contributors would like the minimum rank to be for membership. I think general guidelines should be lain (sterilize your toys, only swap with folks you know, be honest... etc.) and from there folks can use their best judgement.

EF would hold no legal liability to folks' own swaps, which would be within the community, but a separate part, same as with the Classifieds section.

Those who wish to not swap unsterilizable toys will not swap those kinds of toys. We could encourage sterilizable toys only, but of course new-in-box toys that were never used for one reason or another would be fine. No policing of what toys are up for swap, etc., would be done.

Simply put, if someone is being dishonest, it would be reported to the club moderator, and that person would be removed from the club. Simple as that.

What do you guys think?

great idea... but hold that thought! we'll need to get approval from sam and gary, who've been discussing and bouncing back and forth the idea and specifics for a couple months with me now. we'll see what they have to say, and hopefully we can soon go ahead and create the official club!

you're welcome to make your own public list right now in anticipation of the potential club launch, though! as a matter of fact, i'll do the same.

Huh, I hadn't thought of that! On the one hand, having things on wishlists makes things really easy to sort.

On the other hand, it's harder to list things that Eden doesn't carry (like what if I don't like my Split dildo?) (Although, for that particular dildo, it's already claimed if I don't like it. But still, the quandry is possible.)

Hmm, that's a good point! I suppose that you could list it as "I'm swapping this wishlist plus..."

Here's my list!

if we end up with an actual club, on the club's forum you can create your own thread. on that thread you can post links to whatever products you like, and create your own wishlist that way. so no matter what the product, where it came from, whatever, you can swap it. easy peezy.
