I've definitely seen a few. Most of them were people's engagement rings, though, so I kept my mouth shut. If it's got a stone big enough to choke a puppy or it looks like a disco ball, it's just gaudy.

Part of our professions works with the jewelry industry. The links above are certainly ugly, and we have seen our share of items that would make the links look PRETTY - no joke! Last year, we saw a piece that retailed for $50k, and almost looked like someone crapped diamonds on a ring. It was really, really bad...and expensive.
