With all the words out there for the word "pee", the boyfriend and I got into a discussion about it. I was curious where where what you called urinating comes from? Is it a regional thing? A parenting thing? So in the most pointless of polls, what do you call it when you choose to go pee?

Oh, and for your word of the day, "micturate" also means to urinate. Just in case you...um...wanted to scare people when telling them you were going to pee.

Currently? Pee, urinate, go to the bathroom, take a leak, take a piss.

When I was younger, it was other things, like pish.

Pish is New York Yiddish, and I guess piss is New Yorky, too.
Pee is used when I'm around the tiny human.
Usually, though, I just say that I'm excusing myself to the ladies room; what I do in there is my own damn business.

I usually say "I have to pee/go to the bathroom.". If I'm tipsy or being cute I'll say something else. But that's not often.

Usually I just say I'm going to the bathroom but around the kids it's usually gotta go potty. Now that the boys are getting bigger though that's pretty much come to an end still say once in a while with my daughter though.

Alan says Piss or "Take a Wiz." I usually say Pee or Go to the Bathroom... piss is a word I use more to describe anger (Such as "I'm pissed off about that) and I don't even pretend to understand how Wiz equals pee

Pee-pee and tinkle!! The terms are always understood and sound polite, maybe a little silly. If I were talking to a doctor or vet, I might say urine? Potty is OK, that is usually for "the other one". But I usually avoid direct talk about bodily functions. I don't think my preferences have much to do with family or region. I think my close family says "pee" or "go to the bathroom"?

It depends on who I am talking to. If it's my parents, brother, or boyfriend, I just say pee. If it's anyone else, I say I am going to the bathroom or restroom.
