What's The Most Expensive Shoes Or Purse You've Ever Bought?

Contributor: Wicked Wahine Wicked Wahine
In my other poll, What's The Most Expensive Piece Of Clothing You Have Ever Bought? , I left out shoes & purses because I planned on separating them into this discussion. If you like, you can say why you thought it was worth it, or if you regretted your purchase.

I see so many different shoes & purses at all price ranges. I never know who pays those higher end prices & I was curious enough to ask

PS, I am not passing judgement on what people want to spend their money on; I figure people have their reasons! I have dropped money on stuff other's didn't "approve" of & I have no time for that nonsense; it's my money, what do they think? I'm a child who doesn't know any better? Anyway, I obviously am not about questioning who pays what for something; I'm just interested & it sounded like a good question to ask. Honestly, I don't really have to know what you like to eat at the fair either, but I also asked that in another poll.

I am pretty shoe-guilty. Ha ha.
I have about 10 purses, varying sizes different colors and I mix and match to my outfits accordingly. I really don't have a need more anymore of those, but I feel like I can never have enough shoes. Especially boots .
I do not discriminate regarding the money I spend on boots at all. Ha ha. I mean, I have to have it of course (the money I mean), but yeah.

Out of the two, the most expensive thing that I have ever bought was a purse, but it was a gift for my mother. My purses generally cost about $20.

I've never paid more than maybe $60ish for a pair of shoes or boots myself, (because I'm cheap, so I bargain hunt (and also couldn't afford a pair of really nice shoes anyways)) but I have a few pairs of more expensive shoes that were gifts from a couple of foot fetishists that I used to know. Plus I have a pair of $500 sneakers with fancypants custom-made orthotics, but those were thankfully covered by my fabulous Canadian health insurance.

Allen Edmonds Park Avenue Cap-Toe Oxfords, I bought mine a long time ago for less than the current $345.00 msrp. Even though I've had them resoled several times they're still great shoes.

I have foot problems so I have to buy special shoes since I am on my feet all day, those are about $130 and I replace them a couple of times a year, but always replace them with the same model each time. Other than my everyday specially fitted shoes, I have one pair of heels and one pair of flats, and a pair of sandals, but those don't get worn very often since my feet hurt if I wear regular shoes for too long so I don't think it makes much sense to spend money on them I think they were each $20-40.

The most expensive purse I ever bought was about $40. I always use my purse until it falls apart. It is not a fashion thing for me, it is a utility thing.

I am not much of an accessory person so I don't spend a lot on these type of items, or buy multiple types to match an outfit. I'd much rather spend extra on a well fitting pair of slacks or a dress than on a pair of shoes.

I'm not much of a shoe person or a bag person for that matter. The most I've spent on shoes is for boots, which I spent 60 dollars on.

I spend more money on shoes than on purses because I need my shoes to be comfortable and durable since I spend so much time walking outside in a variety of weather. My most expensive shoes, by far, were $130 safety boots that I had to buy for work. After that was a $75 dollar pair of black heels.

I don't really buy purses but one time I did buy one that was about $60 bucks. Shoes it really depends on if I really want them a lot.

I spend more money on shoes than purses. The most I've spend on a pair of shoes was around $90 but they are comfortable and very well constructed. I'll probably get tires of wearing them before they wear out.

My shoes are usually over $60.. the latest pair cost over $90.

Definitely shoes. I have one purse that is finally falling apart after many years and I think I spent 50 dollars on it. I wish I could claim the same level-headedness when looking at my feet.

Let me preface this by saying I used to think $60 was a lot for a purse & I used to spend about $15-30 on my one purse for school back in the late 80's-early 90s. Then, there was this purse at a boutique while I was vacationing with my parent's, ( I need to stop going to nice places with them!) I never saw a purse before that I thought was worth the high price tag, until I saw this one! Now I have an $800+ purse & no money to put in it! I love it, it very fancy/artsy looking so I have no worries about it going out of style or anything. But, I still can't believe I bought it! (That was years ago, now I would kill for that kind of money!)

Shoes, I just spent a fortune on Orthaheel sandals, or rather I should say my dad did for me, God bless him, he reimbursed me! The priciest was $130-ish. I think of the other shoes I have the most I paid was about $300 for some nice tall leather boots. But, I usually don't spend more than $60 tops for shoes & often spend around $30-40. Oh, and I still have & wear them from years ago, too. I take good care of my things, so, unless I outgrow it, it is worn forever, or until I have to give it to charity because I don't want to wear them anymore.

Oh boy a thread just for me! $130 for my Doc Martens. I wear them all the time, they're great!

$800 purse wow hot damn. It better have been Coach or something?
I like Dooney and Bourke purses but if I go all-out on a purse I am getting the leather thigh holster ones I linked you to in the other thread.

KarmaLoop has a bunch of Jeffrey Campbell heels on sale right now for like 50-75% off and I've been looking at them and I want to buy them but I don't even wear heels lol.

i never spend much money on purses, never more than 20 dollars at least, however shoes its a different story. The most expensive pair of shoes i own were marketed between 150-180$, and i rarely wear them for fear that i'll ruin the art on them. They're a pair of high-top tokidoki X onitsuka tiger, shoes.

Shoes, easily. But I've also scored Fendi shoes from consignment shops for less than 70$ that WERE 900.

It is a Lockheart & I can't seem to find it, but while looking online for a picture, I discovered they went out of business & now you have to buy them on Ebay etc. I must have misplaced it when I moved last year, but it's here somewhere. When I find it, I will try to take a picture, but my camera phone is shitty, as I'm sure you noticed from my review pix! I have the receipt inside it because I wanted proof of what it was worth if I had to sell it, ha ha! Well, now it should be worth more, there are some avid collectors out there for these & I know they only made a few of my style.

Sometimes when I buy stuff from the thrift shop, especially furniture, I kinda assume that the previous owner died. Like I've gone in and seen sweaters that have someone's name around the inside collar and it looked straight out of the nursing home.

I'm not a big shoe or purse person. However, I fell in love with a green Juicy Couture purse that was $250 so I splurged. I used it for 5 years before retiring it. Now I have a brown leather Coach purse my grandma found at a garage sale for $10

I don't usually spend much on clothing. The most I paid for shoes was ~$80 for my prom. At the time I joked that since I'd spent more on my shoes than my dress (which I got on clearance) I was now officially a woman.
