Would you break up with someone if they lied about everything?

I voted 'Yes' - but the real answer is that it wouldn't be necessary to break up with them - because I would never have entered into a relationship in the first place. If somehow someone fooled me into starting - I would end it immediately upon finding out.

Lying about the small things would make it worse. I feel like, if you are lying about things that really shouldn't matter, then how can you trust them for the big things?

Yeah, lying is a definite deal breaker. Then again, sometimes it's better to pad the truth, depending.

I will be the one to go out on a limb and say no, I would not break up with them. Lying, I know, is something a lot of people hate, but at some point we all lie in our lives, even if it about small things. I have seen and been asked about several scenarios where people lie to the other abou themselves, even larger things like name, social status, and job. Honestly I would still stay with them.

Yes, I couldn't be with someone I couldn't trust and it starts of with small lies and then before you know it your whole relationship is a lie. Why bother with that crap.

If you're lying about little things, something big is wrong. Not necessarily with the relationship, but them as a person.

I would give them the choice of dealing with why they are compulsive/chronic liars via counseling or end the relationship if they refused.

I would break up with them because no one ONLY lies about the little things. And let's just say they really are only lying about the little things...then what the hell is wrong with them that they'd do that?

I had a friend in high school who I discovered was a pathological liar. Let me tell you, you very well won't know it at first, but the faster you extricate yourself, the better! The pathological ones lie about everything; they can't help themselves. One of the tell tale signs is that they lie about the most insignificant stuff not just the whoppers.

Yes of course, there is no loyalty, faith, or trust throughout the whole relationship. Why even be with someone if they arent going to do anything but feed you lies.
