Many of the women in my extended circle of friends like to kiss hello, usually on the cheek, but I've see kisses on the neck also and even a quick peck on the lips on occasion. One of my guy friends does it (ironically) to his best buds! And everybody hugs now. I'm cool with all of it.

Sure I'd kiss them. Sometimes we kiss on the cheek, but I've never had a friend kiss me on the mouth, (other than when putting the moves on me, but that's a 'whole nother story') I have no problem with kissing people, just no one much attempts it in our culture. I see much more open displays of it in people from some other countries.

Ummm...no. Hugs are much more preferred between us. Like WW said, it's not part of our culture. I find kisses best shared between my boyfriend. That kiss on each cheek thing is weird to me.

Interesting how what we're used to affects our outlook on this. I've become just as accustomed to the cheek kissing since having lots of foreign friends. The differences in personal space preferences are also interesting.

Depends which friends. Many of my friends have crushes on me and I wouldn't want to "lead them on" or hurt their feelings.
