Porn stars have rights to their image and choosing who profits from it like every other famous people. It wouldn't be any less wrong if somebody ripped off Sasha Grey's image to make a doll without her agreement (and participation in the profits).

The thing about porn stars, though, is that they usually work with the company to create a toy with their branding. this is not the case with Miley.

Huh. And hear I thought she was still just a kid. Evidence of how little I care about her, but still, she has the right to not have her visage used and made money from by anyone other than herself. And Disney.

I definitely think she has every right to sue them. Yes she is slutty, but she is not a porn star. Paris Hilton now if they made a doll of her I could not see her being able to sue because she has porno movies out.

If I were her, I would be upset that the actual doll looks to be of very poor quality and very generic, more so than that it was produced. She probably wouldn't have been so mad if it was a flattering replication of her. That's the name of the game when you are famous...you put yourself out there for all kinds of crazy stuff. Yes it sucks that it was manufactured in her likeness, but what sucks more is that the actual doll bears no resemblance to her at all. I'd be pissed if a company named a doll after me and it looked nothing like me. If Mattel came out with a Miley doll that did not represent her or her likeness she should be upset too.

I think she has every right to sue them. I saw it here on EF a while ago and I was wondering if anything would happen with it. If something has someone's name on it (or really close/obvious) and they don't want that product made then they should have every right to sue! I think it's a sleezy thing to do without that persons permission.

I love Miley, and while I'd totally buy this just for the novelty of the box (it wouldn't even be worth opening, though) the fact that this was done without her permission and without her getting any of the money made off of it, I think she has EVERY right to file a lawsuit! Yes, when you have that level of fame there are certain things you can come to expect, but something like this is crossing that thin line, and then driving 30 miles north of the line.

But couldn't the same be said for many parody porn films? None of them are getting permission to recreate the likenesses of characters and stars, even if things are changed ever so slightly. Like the Tosh Point Oh film...they use his name directly, only changing the O to Oh. It's a very grey area I think. There are also porn films featuring the stars of Jersey shore and I know I have seen a Brittany Spears themed porn. In both cases it is obvious that the actors are portraying and imitating stars. I wonder if folks would be so concerned about the Miley if she were not so young and had a Disney background. I'm not saying she shouldn't sue them...good luck to her. If she wants it off the market, that is her right, as is the right of anyone else. I just think there are many other similar instances that have not received the same attention, possibly because those affected do not have that same wholesome history.

She has a right to sue.

IF she doesn't want to be associated with this, she shouldn't have to be.

If nothing else, she's getting financially ripped off. People are profiting off of using her name and image to make money and she's not getting a cut.
