Turned on by (not necessarily erotic) writing styles? Or not?

Wicked Wahine has threatened to quit posting forum topics, so in support of her I am making an attempt to start one.

I met my husband online years ago, and one of the things that really had me hooked right away was his beautiful style of writing. Not specifically erotica, or even sexy subjects or love notes, but just his usage of language and vocabulary, his expressiveness and intelligent thoughts and descriptions of things, ideas and experiences. Does anyone else feel this way about someone you know or love, or about writings you find online or in print?

Or do you just like it down & dirty, and all those words are a distraction?

Thoughts?

I probably should have titled my topic "Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Wicked Wahine Threatens to Stop Posting Forum Topics!" lol

The frightening post was on MrWill's wall from June 11.

No, writings don't turn me on really. I love when my partner talks dirty to me, though!

ImaGodiva, YOU STINKER!!!

Thank goodness you didn't title this post that ^ way, you would have caused me grief. I did not really think anyone was gonna read that wall comment but MrWill!

Let me explain...

This is what was bugging me:

I was tired & disheartened after two months of posting a min of 5 topics a day & staying on top of the responses. I had sometimes 50+ alert emails every day, now I get maybe 10 at the very most. A lot of my topics are copied within a few days to a week or more. Sometimes, I think why am I bothering when so few else are & even fewer bother to search first so they don't duplicate. I can easily ask everyone's favorite band, or color, but it's been done before & I was told not to duplicate topics! It used to be others just didn't answer the copycats, but they get as many, or more answers than mine now! Why are people helping them get a better rating? And why should I continue to feed them topics to either unknowingly, or purposefully, duplicate? ---Anyway, all of < that was what was bugging me.

But, I'm in a better frame of mind now:

I wasn't trying to get people to compliment me or anything. But I do appreciate the support; thank you, ImaGodiva, Edeneve & MrWill! I will try my best, but it is getting hard to think of topics that I haven't done, plus so few people seem to answer anything other than polls lately, anyone else notice that? Maybe I should also bump up some of my early stuff that only a few people answered? I will do my best! And thank you for propping up my tired old ass!

In answer to the real topic...

Yes, anything beautifully written, especially when I am taken aback somehow at the person's talent, does turn me on. Turned on in the sense that they now have my interest! I may not want to rip off my clothes on the spot, but I start to get interested in that person, the same way I get impressed by a very talented musician. I start to think, "Wow, if they can write that beautifully, they have some depth to them, an artistic soul...I wonder what else there is to discover about them? Maybe they are as creative in bed?" Any old person can talk dirty to you, (sure, some are better than others), but it's not a good indicator of intellectual compatibility. What happens in situations like you describe is a more intellectual, rather than a physical turn on, (although, the physical can certainly follow quickly). And we all know the brain is the most important sex organ, so...
