What do you look for in erotica?

I'm very picky when it comes to erotica. I am easily turned off by poor writing, too many punctuation marks and the mention of certain words like 'impale,' 'spewing' or 'cunt.' The plot is also important to me. I find it difficult to get into a story if the characters are having sex without developing an emotional connections first. Anal sex scares me but I love a good description of oral sex being performed on a man or a woman.

Are there certain words, sex acts or plot points you love or get immediately turned off by? What do you look for in an erotic novel or anthology?

Woman China

Wham bam stories are a complete turn off to me. I need character development and I need to know why the characters are having sex, not just "he saw me and I climbed on him and we went at it like Woman on real coffee". I need details, and a story that flows. And not the romance novels, I want sex too. Graphic smutty raunchy sex. I mean, I want the details of the blow job, or the sensations of nipples against his chest type of details... I want my erotica to take me from my world and put me into their world as an observer.

This is what I like, and I hardly if ever find erotica the way I like it. So I write it.

I agree with you, CollegeFun. That's what I look for. I don't need a good plot. when it comes to erotica.
