I know I shouldn't expect anything.....but?

So this past weekend, I threw this great big surprise birthday party for my husband. Invited all his friends/family and we took a trip across state to do all this. He thought we were going there for my EF spa party (which was on sunday-his party was sat). So anyways, I also got him tickets to the ball game hes been wanting, his favorite players jersey (which wasn't cheap lemme tell ya) and then I got his favorite beer too! I mean I put a lot of thought into all of this. It was insane how far we went with it. But it was all worth it in the end.

Now, today is Mothers day and monday is my birthday-so I kinda get two days that are totally mine hehe. But, because of our big event last weekend, we're tapped for cash. So tapped, that a bill or two had to be put off til next week, but hey that is ok right? So anyhow, All I really want for mothers day and my birthday is maybe a few nice gestures *(maybe a nice oil massage with all the massage candles I got from EF) or a nice hot bubble bath drawn for me. Ya know, the sappy stuff lol. I don't get that a lot and he's not really one to put a lot of thought into it.

Now, I know he's going to read this eventually or find it-but Im hoping that he doesn't until later this week LMAO!!!!

So Im wondering, would YOU expect something in return or would you be fine with stuff like what I listed off? I had one of my friends tell me "Oh he had better do it up for you this weekend!" and I just thought "Nah, its ok-really. It made me happy to see him so happy having a birthday party when he never got one as a child" So that was enough for me

What do you all think? Should I hold my breath or just be happy with whatever comes what may?

You're happy to have something simple so there's nothing wrong with not being greedy; the stuff is easy enough for him to do. Although you may need to ask him for a 'birthday massage' because men tend to be rather clueless and still haven't mastered mind reading (like they should ).

Happy Mother's Day, and Happy Birthday, too.

Thank you Chilipepper!

Well, my birthday and mothers day was nice It was simple, as expected. But it was also nice to just relax and not be so overwhelmed like we were the weekend before, at his birthday party.

We stayed up late the night before, he wished me happy birthday around 1am and we ended up on the liberator flip ramp hehe (WOOT)! That was fun ;-) Sorry, TMI haha!

I took a nap around noon, when my baby girl went down for a nap. I woke up a few hours later to my husband and my 10 month old singing me happy birthday, with a homemade cake and candles in hand lol. It was hilarious because we didn't have an "8" candle, just a "2", "9" and a "1". So, he took the candles and put "29", then he used the regular vertical candles to create a minus sign (lol) and put the "1" after it. Because I turned 28 it said "29-1" lmao!!!!!!!! I about died laughing .I was half asleep, blew out the candles-was so out of it, I can't even remember what on earth I wished for HAH! Then, we just laid around for most of the day. Baby girl was crankier than all get out (teething with 5 teeth comin' in! YIKES!) so that was a bit irking, but we survived lol. Then, later that night I got a soothing massage via JimmyJane afterglow (god bless you JJ! LOL). That massage turned sensual and it was allll about me after that yay! So overall, I would have to say that my birthday was pretty good. Not to mention, I will probably have gained 5lbs for snacking on that damned cake all day! I couldn't resist. I was having the munchies dangit and it was sooooo good! LOL.

Personally I think anything especially the small gestures is perfect, because that shows he puts in the effort and doesn't just throw a little money around, he actually takes your likes into consideration
