I have a shopping problem, so mine is worse. I buy makeup, clothes, sex stuff, you name it. If there's a sale? Forget about it! I'll spend hundreds if not more.

He spends, too, but mostly on car parts. Not as much on games, though he does spend on that as well.

Our problem is we do not want to spend much money. I put black two pairs of pants today that were 8bucks a piece. I am to cheap to pay much for anything!

i can't hold on to money to save my life. i've had to ask my bf for money quite a few times. i don't ever ask for more than maybe $10 or $20, & i've always paid him back, but i don't see how it doesn't annoy him by now.

I don't play video games and she doesn't shop that much. Now, if we were talking about my sex toy habits and her football addiction....

My spending is worse. I spend my money and his.

Mine is WAY worse than his. Heaven knows he bootlegs all his games--I can't pirate a dildo, though!

I'd call us about even. I make purchases of things more frequently, although he'll end up spending what I spent spread out all in one spot for something on the car.

He's terrible with money. Spends it like water. He always has an excuse, too. Our DVD player doesn't work downstairs, and he keeps claiming we "don't have the money" but he took a road trip out to Colorado last week and claimed he needed an OTHER pair of two way radios that cost more than a medium priced DVD player would have.

He always seems to think there will be more, and it doesn't "count" if you put it on a credit card. I'd do just about anything to handle the bills, but he's weird about them.

Also, not everyone here has a "his" for a partner.

He doesn't play video games, and I don't have a shopping habit. lol But he wants me to do the finances because I do have better spending habits than him. He tends to make impulse buys, and I'm more of a saver and a planner. But none of it is out of control or anything.

He spends less often, but spends more when he does.

He buys himself a few large gifts a year. Last few were a flat screen TV, and a PS3.

I shop a LOT, but it's usually lots of little things.

He probably spends more than me though, because when he does purchase things, they're more expensive.

hers is. When I buy something, it is something that makes me money (a tool), or something that does not lose its value. When she buys something, it is just something that was on sale (that being her main reason, not something that we need) or something that is cheap and will get thrown away after a few uses.

He is. He really likes to splurge.. and it's basically ALL THE TIME. It's not really a big deal to me because he can do what he wants with his money... but sometimes I wonder why he gets all this stuff when the novelty of the item always is short-lived with him.

Neither one of us are compulsive shoppers. We rarely buy fun things, just stuff we need.

I tend to hoard all my money. This site is my one exception.

This is mainly due to the fact that videogames were way better when I was growing up...

We discuss all purchases and take turns taking care of each other. We have a joint account and I make more money. My partner is still a student. We are frugal now, and we plan to stay that way. When she gets her career started, things will be more than comfortable.

His are atrocious. LOL I took the money away from him a while ago, put us on a tight budget and that was the end of that. He'd lived his entire adult life constantly in the over-draft (but no credit thankfully!), and now we can save about $1000 a month and still live just fine. It's taken some adjusting for him for sure, but he hasn't looked back at all. It became necessity for us once we had our daughter and went down to one income. I am okay scraping by with not much to eat because we blew our money on silly un necessary things - but I refuse to make my daughter live like that!

I'd say our spending is about even with each other, and it's no cause for concern. We are both fairly frugal and each buy a couple things a month that we don't 'need' (mine are clothes or things on EF).

Neither of us have bad spending habits. We buy what we need, when we need it. We are fairly frugal, but have no hesitation in paying a little more for quality and/or value.

Really confused by the mine/his dichotomy presented in the poll... what if there is no "him" in the relationship?? or what if there is but they're the one answering the poll??? oh my golly

Anyway both me and my girlfriend are thankfully pretty frugal and good with money, we splurge occasionally, but neither of us are huge shoppers (and boy is that a relief).
