Do you ever take your wedding ring off?

As I was taking my ring off before bed last night, I started wondering how many people take their rings off to sleep, or bath, or?

When I was married, I took mine off only when bathing. I wore it for everything else, including dish washing (it was a plain band with Celtic knotwork, so no stones or settings to get in the way).

When I was small, I remember my parents wearing theirs, still. My mom took hers off when she washed her hands or did the dishes or bathed. I'm not sure about sleep, though. I do know that not long after that, they both stopped wearing their rings because their fingers swelled too much and the rings no longer fit.

Mine never comes off unless I get my hands exceptional dirty like caulking or glue all over them. There was a time when I took it off for work but I put it on a necklace.

Mine only comes off when I am working on an engine or motorcycle, the cleaners are not good for my stones. Other than that, I keep my ring on all the time--and have my husband put it back on after I am done with the repairs to an engine.

I don't wear a wedding ring, but I do wear my class ring and another ring, and they never come off.

When I do finally get my engagement/wedding ring, it's never leaving my finger unless it's to get it cleaned.

I usually take mine off when I'm in the tub or moisturizing. I hate cream under my ring.

I don't take it off to sleep.

My husband doesn't wear one, he used to, but he has broken every finger on every hand and his original ring doesn't fit. He also has sensory issues and hates jewelry.

I really hate wearing rings, so I don't have one. Instead I have a metal collar that my husband locked on me when we got married (though, it has a key so you can take it off for medical proceedures, etc). I only take it off when I have to (x-rays, etc), and never for baths or anything like that.

I never take mine off, since it's only a wedding band made of three different kinds of gold, and won't get in the way.

Same here. I have a narrow band that's left a permanent impression in my finger.

The only times I wear mine are when I go out somewhere (work, shopping, etc). I usually leave it off at home, partially because I'm worried that my extreme clumsiness will ruin it (I have a bad habit of accidentally slmming my hands and knuckles onto walls/doorjams), and also so I don't scratch my son while playing with him.

My husband only wears his on super-special occasions. He hates the feeling of jewelry to the point where he won't even wear a watch.

I take it off quite a bit. It's too big and I'm afraid of losing it.

I usually take it off if I'm making a dish where I'm working with something greasy such as hamburger or ground turkey, otherwise it stays on pretty much all the time.

I wear mine on a chain around my neck at all time. It's too big for my dainty fingers. Also, that way I don't have to remove it for dirty tasks such as embalming dead bodies (even if we wear gloves, meh).

I take my ring off for many reasons and it can be a problem misplacing it. I can't wear it when I play golf, work on the car, around the pool and for yard work.

I never even know when my wife is wearing hers - she had a second made that's white gold or something like that. She doesn't wear it for me - it's to keep the 'pests' away.

Mine only comes off when I am applying lotions or oils or creams or something that might gunk up in the jewels or under the band. I hate that! Other than that, it doesn't come off. I used to have to take all jewelry off at one of my jobs, because I was in a sterile environment (health care), so I had to take them off because of the possibility of bacteria or germs on them.

I try to never have to remove my wedding ring. It was put there for a reason, there is no reason for it to come off. The only time it comes off of my finger is when it needs to be cleaned and it goes right back on. My spouse doesn't wear one, but I know where he sleeps at night and don't feel the need to push the fact of him wearing one. I am sure he wouldn't mind if I didn't want to wear one either, but I don't feel the need to not wear one! I love him more than ever and am glad to prove that I am happily married to him!

I take my engagement ring off before bed & to shower. If I am at home I'll take it off to wash my hands but not in public. I am very forgetful and I dont know what I would do if I lost it. Or what my fiance would do!

I used to never take mine off. When we got ready to go to Haiti the first time, hubby wanted me to leave them at home. Now, I take them off most of the time when I am home because they are either too loose (from weight loss) or swelling (from plane flights/heat). Hubby used to never wear his (when he was plumbing) then after his heart surgery, he lost about 100 pounds and lost it at the grocery store. I got him a new one and he wears his most of the time now unless he is plumbing or working outside.
