I take my engagement ring off when I get a shower/am getting ready and when I do dishes. I have been losing weight so it has been slipping off which scares me, but I am getting married next month and the jeweler says to wait to resize it again until I have wedding on with it (they will be put together) and that will make a difference in fit.

I take mine off for bread baking or doing something that could make my hands every icky. Lately, I've had it off during the day (putting back on when I go out) because my finger was irritated under the ring. Husband never wears his because it gets in the way (the ring is damaged now because, well, it got in the way).
On the flipside, I have a friend who never removes her rings. If she's doing something dirty, she wears gloves over them.

I ony take mine off when I am waxing my legs (that stuff is awful to get out of your setting) and if I am doing something like working in the flowerbeds etc. My jeweler said that you should not wear a ring with a setting in the pool, the chlorine over time will weaken your prongs! I just can't ever seem to remember to take it off for the pool!

In the 19 years we have been married I have had my rings off once and that was to have them fixed the band broke. Even when I have had surgery I refused to take them off so they put a bandaid over them.

I rarely take mine off. It's pretty much a permanent fixture on my hand.

I take my engagement ring off if I'm going to be using lotions or oils, working with raw or messy food, or before I go to work on certain shifts. When I'm just working the till at work, I leave it on, but if I'm making food or cleaning at work, I definitively take it off.

The first year of marriage I never wore mine to work. It was suggested we not wear rings because type of work created possibility of catching it on something resulting in a missing finger! Since that time it has come off only twice, both times when having surgury.
