It appears as if you weren't around when things were really going strong here. Many, many things changed and even those of us who put a lot of effort into making it a better place were left high and dry. For example, I have a lot of points (almost 68,000) but it would take forever (not to mention $$$$) to use them all now. Also, these points weren't obtained as "freebies" - many of us spent hours writing reviews and also served as editors (which took a tremendous amount of time).
It's true I was not around when EF was in it's height/ heyday as far as forum and reviews participation. I did stop in though and read threads and reviews.
I am familiar with the 100% pts for gc change. I emphasis with members losing that fantastic discount.
It was great to see so much discussion, many reviews, comments following publishing etc. I'm sure if EF changed the policies it was due to financial reasons. EF is a business not just a forum and place to review everyday people's reviews.
All I was saying is, what good does it do to make negative comments and criticize. Not so much to you in particular, but I have seen many pop in just to make such comments. How does that help ? Do they just want to vent ?
Many say, they miss the glory days. My comment is if they participate, it can grow. However it seems they will not, unless got something in return.
There are other forums and blogs where members participate. _ _ has the largest # of members in the world. Tons of participation and advise given. No of the members get compensation. Just a community of like- minded people.
EF currently in trying to rebuild it's community and even give out assignments under a different program. If you or anyone interested just contact Obsurca.
Just my 2 bits. Hope to see others and you around
