What is the Hardest Part About Writing Reviews?

I actually have several slight problems, both with the specifications, and the summary, but the hardest part is the summary. That's the first part that people and potential customers see, so that's the one I want to be as good as possible.

I voted other because one of the hardest parts is just getting started. Once I do, it seems to flow pretty nicely. Also thinking of a title can be a pain sometimes.
Same here...sometimes it's just the first couple of sentences that are so damn difficult.

I've only written one so far, but the summary was pretty hard and I'm TERRIBLE at coming up with creative titles.

My main thing is getting started. I LOVE writing the reviews, but I get unmotivated because I feel like I'm leaving things out and I'm trying to think of all the details I can add to the review and I just overwhelm myself sometimes.

sometimes, the whole review is hard to write. I always do a draft and read through it a few times, because my spelling sucks, and I repeat myself way too often.

The summary is definitely a hard part, but I also have trouble not repeating myself. And if you do the extended format for a review, I think the "Use" section is hard, because I seem to repeat stuff from that section, later on in the review. It's weird. The measurements and specifics of the toy are easy to write about. I find writing about my experience somewhat difficult sometime. I try not to go into too much TMI details and all that. Plus if it's a toy I didn't enjoy and didn't work right for me, it's hard to write about how it worked for me personally.

The summary is tough for me, too. And as ScottA mentioned, I have issues with the pros and cons sections. Sometimes I have so many things that I want to highlight as pros or cons, and other times I can't think of how to word what I want to say. Still other times, I feel like there's not enough features to highlight, so it's hard to make those sections really useful.

Description review pros/cons are even harder, because I have to think about the toy itself, and whether a feature is a pro or con objectively. It's hard to remove my bias from pros/cons, and focus on the product itself.

Writing reviews is a lot of fun. Proofreading isn't but has to be done. Tagging is sometimes challenging.

Sometimes I wish we had the option to join use and summary since so much of that info relates and overlaps.

I agree with this. Sometimes, when writing, you put stuff in one section, and then see/remember another, so you have to decide which area to put the things in. Making it a bit more specific would be good.

I have yet to really search, but can reviews be done on DVDs? I LOVE watching porn, and would love to do some reviews on some I already own, as well as possibly get some from here to review too.

Absolutely! You can do reviews on DVDs you own and request some from here to review. Here are some examples of DVD reviews:

Summary for me, like others have said, it can be hard to find something to sat that hasn't been said already.

I think hitting the submit button can be the hardest sometimes.

I have a hard time with the ending, which I supposed I've always had a hard time with no matter what I'm writing about. I feel like it's just, ...use warm water and soap to clean it, store in a cool dark place k thnx bai. THE END. The transition between middle and end, and giving that fulfilling 'I just read something worthwhile' feeling just kill me. I need more practice with writing endings.

The use and design. I get nervous because so many here are such good writers and I get intimidated.

Where's the word count option? LoL. I tend to want to include every possible bit of information, so I end up with excessive length & repetition. I have to do a lot of edits to get rid of that stuff - literally going "Okay, unnecessary adjective there."

Overall organization. Still learning my way around the format here. A challenge writing my first review was figuring out what to put in which section. Also, I'm still figuring out the general tone of reviews here. In other fields the tone is more distant, whereas here you have more of a personal tone, etc. So, I'm working on figuring that out.

For me it's the 'body'. I don't waste a lot of time on stats but I do a lot of comparisons. So gathering the data and composing an understandable narrative is where its at for me.

The summary is difficult I have yet to get it right. I don't know how to sum up the review in two sentences while making it sound catchy.

I use the extended template most of the time. I find it hard to do the "Use" section. Once I get going I am fine, it is just starting that is a pain.
