How do you choose which reviews to read?

Contributor: spiced spiced
I read reviews of stuff I'm interested in, or curious about - as well as products I'm going to review, so that my review can add something unique.

Also, when I read an interesting comment on a discussion, I often check out one of that contributor's reviews. I try to read each review carefully and critically, so I can rate it fairly.

I'm with jennifur77, too: first reviews are often the most entertaining!

Sometimes I like to read reviews on products I normally wouldn't be interested in becuase sometimes I have misconceptions about a product. Other times I just don't really know what you would use a product for or how it works and the review answers that question for me.

I've been trying to read more new reviews, but lately it's been mostly product-based.

If it's a new review I read it if it's a product I might be interested in. Also I try to read reviews by newbies to give them encouragement and advice. If I'm looking to buy a specific product for example a flavored lube, I will read EVERY review available on that product so that I can get the best idea of whether or not I want to buy it!

If I'm interested in an item, I then look for reviews by people I know to have good reviews in the past & who tend to have the same preferences in toys as I. For example Ryuson is someone I read because she has great reviews with pictures & often videos, plus she doesn't like a lot of girth. I know chicmichiw will have a good review & I'll get to see the water vibe test for the type of vibrations! That doesn't mean I don't try new reviewers, but I do tend to read my faves first.

I read most of the new reviews but I may only glance over ones that aren't something we're looking for right now.

I read the reviews of things I am interested in, I try to read all that are there for that item or at least the top 10.
