How do you feel about upgrade requests?

I'm new to the site and wanted to get advanced reviewer status. I wrote a few reviews and realized that I probably would have been voted in. Personally I wanted to be a great reviewer, so I asked for help from someone whose style I admired through the mentor program. Now that I am in the program I read more reviews with with a critical eye to see style elements that I would like to incorporate. It really will help me (I think) to be a better writer and reviewer by taking this route.

I actually just posted about this. What makes people vote for someone. Seeing people almosted voted it with reviews that are not very well written confuses me. And as I stated in my post, I myself shouldn't have even been voted in. I went through a mentorship after and my mentor was great and when I look back on my first reviews, I just shake my head and think... HOW? Even now I am still learning. I think it should be harder to become advanced reviewer. Maybe make it possible only with a certain rank like everything else. It just seems too easy. And since I am even calling myself and my own upgrade out, it shows there is something wrong . lol.

Nice first review. I didn't know that anyone would get voted in, so I submitted a couple reviews of toys that I've had since before I joined edenFantasys. I'm still waiting for them to review my reviews. Maybe I would have been better off just submitting them to an editor and revising based on comments, but I figure that I should learn something from my mentor.

You were one of the mentors I sent a request to, but somebody else accepted my request. I submitted a couple of reviews of toys that I've had since before I joined edenFantasys, and they haven't sent me a message or edited my reviews, and it has been a few days. I'm starting to think that I would have been better off just submitting them to an editor and revising based on comments.

The only thing with an editor - you won't get the same feedback as with a mentor. Editors ONLY check grammar, spelling, punctuation. They do NOT check for content. Mentors check for content, along with the other stuff.

You can always shoot your mentor a PM if you're concerned that things are taking too long!

I dont know how the voting stuff works. I never had to be voted. Once I was graduated from mentor program as student, i was advanced reviewer after 2 reviews total in 2011. I graduate most of my students after 2 good reviews they send in to me. 1 Student did 15 (all but 2 were products she owned) but that took awhile for me to look thru them all.

Oh, that explains a bit. I guess I'm just being impatient and want to be as active as possible. I have sent them a PM. I guess they'll get back to me soon enough. Maybe I'll find a couple other products I already have to review in the mean time.

I have seen people get voted in that have absolutely AWFUL reviews...But I am not advanced yet so I can't even vote.

I'm actually waiting for my mentor to get back to me now about graduating XD
