Ok, I tried my first butt plug. (I have only ever done anal once and it was well over ten years ago and I was drunk :/ ) so anyways, I tried the Mood Naughty Medium Silicone Plug.. It went perfect with no troubles. So my question is which plug do you recommend as my next step?

bubble butt is a good stretcher. if you're wanting to hold it for a bit, the gumdrop is a good choice too.

I personally would not go with anything that isn't silicone, glass, or stainless steel because you just can't sanitize them. I would think using a condom with a plug would surely put a damper on your fun!
Since you have tried silicone and seem to like the medium mood plug I'd go with the large as your next step. Just be sure to use the medium first as a warm up!

I too am a complete anal beginner and recently purchased my first plugs. I got the Plug of Lust small and the Mood Naughty medium. I really like the shape of the plug of lust and I think I will be getting the Plug of Lust large. I had no troubles getting the Mood Naughty in, but once in I kind of felt ho-hum about the shape. It's a great place to start but I won't be buying the large. My next purchase will be the Tantus Ryder or the Plug of Lust Large.

I would caution you not to even consider the Classic butt plug royal... It is LARGE. 2 and a half inches.. I consider myself to be pretty experienced with large toys and I can't get past 2 3/8s yet...

Of the ones on your list, the best choice would the the Mood Naughty large. I agree about sticking with non-porous materials (silicone, glass, metal).
You didn't say how you'd be using the plug, which makes a difference. I like tapered glass plugs (like the Moon Shine) as a warm-up for anal, and more rounded silicone plugs (like the Tantus Ryder) to wear during sex or solo play, or for extended wear.
If you're interested in the Ryder, but it's a little too big (1 1/2" diameter), the Joe Rock is a very similar design, with the same diameter as the Mood Naughty large (1 1/4").

With butt plugs, as long as you know you want to keep the toy and use it for a while I would definitely go with glass or silicone just so you know it will last. Any other materials can harbor bacteria and have the potential to cause infections or break down over time (not to mention they can't be fully sterilized).

I voted for the Classic Butt Plug Royal for one reason. It's nicely tapered, which means that you can slowly work your way up to being able to take the entire toy. I have one of these and was able to fully insert it within a month but I use plugs almost daily so your experience with it may vary.
If you buy the Mood Naughty Large, I'll bet you'll be looking for something bigger in a very short time.
The Gumdrop looks interesting but I've read that the neck of the toy isn't long enough and it tends to pop out.
The Bubble Butt is really short. At only 2 3/4" insertable length, I bet it would pop out easily.

I would stick with the Mood Naughty Large, a product line you're already familiar with. I've got the Gumdrop in grey and am still trying to figure out how to insert it past the last width before the flange.

I usually prefer glass for warm-up/stretching. It's so incredibly smooth that it's easier to insert. I used to like my Cobalt Bubble plug (now discontinued) for this; I found I like the Moon Shine even better.
Lately, though, I've just been using my silicone Tantus Ryder. It's about as smooth as silicone gets, I can get it in without any other warmup, it's comfortable for a long time (I've worn it for almost 2 hours, and plan to try it for longer soon) and it stays in really well. It's big enough that it works to prepare me for pegging with either the Vixskin Mustang (1 1/2" diameter) or Vixskin Johnny (1 3/4" diameter). If you're looking for "one plug to rule them all", the Ryder might be a good choice. The only concern is that it's a pretty big step up from the Mood Naughty Medium.
