FIRST-TIME WITH BOOTY PLAY?
If you have never experienced any kind of anal penetration at all, I'd recommend something the size of a finger, such as this toys little cousins the Mood Naughty small, or the Mood Naughty Medium.

I am a firm believer that first-timers worried it may be painful should do the following:
1. Do not start with thrusting intercourse, whether a dildo or human penis. Start with fingers or small toys.
2. Use plenty of lube.
3. Never start a play session with anal - incorporate it into your play after you are already turned on.
4. Patience, patience, patience!

This toy is made from 100% smooth (non-textured) velvety body-safe silicone, which rates a 10 on EF's safety scale. This means that the plug can be completely sterilized; it is both able to be bleached and boiled. It is hypoallergenic and phthalates-free. The silicone itself is firm -- much firmer than Tantus' silicone toys. There is quite a bit of flexibility in the neck, but the bulb itself is very firm and thick. This velvety silicone is suitable for beginners and advanced users alike. Velvety silicone has less drag, which means it requires less lube to keep it from 'sticking' during insertion.

Upon removing the Mood Naughty plug from its packaging, I noticed it had no smell and no taste. I selected the black color, and it is very evenly colored with a very high-quality feel to it. This silicone has a good weight to it -- not too heavy, but not too light.

As this toy is silicone, it is important to avoid using silicone or even hybrid lubes.

This is the most well-designed plug that I've ever used. The neck is narrow enough to make extended wear comfortable, but the thickest part is enough for intermediate users to feel quite "filled up". This toy is non-realistic, as it is not shaped like a penis. Although I wouldn't exactly call this toy "discreet" (it looks like a plug), it is small and light enough to travel with.

The base is narrower than many plugs' boxy, uncomfortable bases. It is wider on one side than the other, like a teardrop shape. The base is a bit too long for me. Everyone's anatomy is different, but for me, this plug disturbs (but does not prevent) vaginal penetration.

It is narrower than an average penis, so it may not be a suitable size for advanced anal players and "size queens." I agree with the other reviewers who say that, contrary to its name, this is not a "large" plug.

My other plug is about the size as my thumb is at its widest point (7/8" diameter), and this one starts at the tip at around the same width -- around an inch. At its widest point, it is only slightly larger, at 1 1/4 in. This is the next step up from beginner plugs, like the Lil End, the Meteorite, and the Mood Naughty small, or the Mood Naughty Medium.

The design is elegant and aesthetically pleasing.

WOW!

This toy is absolutely perfect for my needs. The plug is comfortable, and the tapering doesn't feel forced. It is just big enough that it will not fall out, no matter the position. This is the absolute best part of the Mood Naughty large, in my opinion. Everyone's anatomy is different, so your mileage may vary, but for my body, this toy STAYS IN. Zero chance of this bad boy popping out. In fact, you should be careful upon removal not to tear your delicate tissues! I recommend squatting and pushing like you're trying to poop instead of tugging hard at the base.

Some reasons you may not like this toys performance (I really had to struggle to come up with a few) include a preference for vibrating toys (this is non-vibrating, which I prefer - no batteries!), or that the base may be too long and interfere with vaginal penetration.

Silicone 101:
Silicone is an amazing material. Care couldn't be easier with this. Wash with any soap, or use a wipe like Eden toy and body wipes. As long as it is washed immediately after use, silicone does not hang on to odors, as it is non-porous. Silicone is easy to sterilize. Dip it in a 5% bleach solution, or boil it. This allows these toys to be safely shared.

Silicone cannot contact other silicone, or it will turn the toy into a tacky mess! Always store silicone toys away from one another. Always use water-based lube with silicone toys -- never silicone-based or hybrid lubes.

Personally, I store mine in a small pouch that I made from an old hoodie, which is not very glamorous. I recommend a storage box!

This toy arrived packaged in a funky matte-finish black cardboard box. A clear plastic sleeve shows the toy through the front, with a background of multi-colored dots.

The back of the package is peppered with multi-colored dots that indicate all kinds of wonderful features of the Mood Naughty large plug in a very visually appealing way. It mentions a few features, which I've already covered -- including the composition of the toy and some technical information (100% phthalate-free silicone, non-vibrating, etc.)

The first time I used this toy, I did so without warming up first. I used lube (always, always use lube for comfortable anal penetration!) but still found discomfort in trying to insert it. I figured that it was not a good day, washed it, and tried again a few days later. This time, I "warmed up" with the Tantus Little Flirt. This toy went in easily, and I held my vibrator against the base and stimulated my clit until I almost came. Then I lubed up the Mood Naughty, took out the Little Flirt, and took a deep breath. With the vibrator against my clit, I found that insertion of the Mood Naughty a breeze! The base fit comfortably between my cheeks, and I had a powerful orgasm after a very short period of time!
