Doc Johnson's Mood Naughty large anal plug is a nice, high quality silicone butt plug that can be worn alone or during penetration. It is waterproof and can be used anywhere. This is a great toy for anyone who is either a novice to the world of anal toys, or someone like myself, who decided to just go for the gold.

This plug is made out of smooth, non-textured silicone, giving it a perfect 10 on Eden's safety scale. It is non-porous, hypo-allergenic and phthalate free. In other words, this toy is completely body safe. In addition, it is free of odor and taste.


The only texture on the toy is an imprint of the Doc Johnson logo on the bottom of the plug's base, which cannot be felt during use and won't collect any fluids.


The Mood Naughty plug feels delightful to the touch. It is firm yet soft and has a very flexible neck. There is minimal drag to this toy. If you're familiar with silicone, you know those buggers have a tendency to be lint collectors, but this one isn't a fuzz magnet by any means. Even though there isn't a lot of drag, it is pertinent to use a generous amount of lubricant before inserting this plug. The anal tissue is very sensitive and can be easily ripped. Trust me, it's not pleasant.

The tip of the Mood Naughty plug is a perfect balance of pointy and rounded, which makes insertion a breeze once you're warmed up. I tend to like larger toys, so I skipped ahead and went for the large version of this plug. If you're like me, this would be a great choice, but if you are beginner and unsure about your stance on anal play, I'd suggest starting out with something a bit smaller.

Once inserted, the plug gave me a full feeling, but not uncomfortably full. It caused no discomfort at all. The shape is that of your average anal plug; a tip for insertion, a wide body, skinny neck and flared base to make it safe and save you from having the toy accidentally pulled into you.

Since the toy does not vibrate, it is definitely suitable for travel. It would not be discreet if left out in plain sight. I prefer to store mine in its original packaging in a safe place.

Once inserted, the Mood Naughty plug felt absolutely great. It has decent girth, a nice rounded point for insertion and a skinny neck which will keep you free of worry of either sucking the toy in, or it falling out. I will only use silicone and other non-porous materials as anal toys, and silicone, thus far, is my favorite. It is firm and flexible and and long as you're generous with lube, you'll be good to go.

I've never measured the length from my clitoris to vagina, or vagina to anus, but I can tell you that the flared base of this toy did get in the way while I was using it during vaginal penetration. Of course, every body is different so this may not be an issue for others. It wasn't a big enough inconvenience that it will impede upon my future pleasure of using this plug.

Since this toy is silicone and waterproof, there are many available options for cleaning and sanitizing. Routine cleaning can be accomplished with antibacterial soap and water, toy cleaner/foam or toy cleansing wipes. If you wish to fully disinfect this plug, it can be done so by either boiling or cleaning it in a 5-10% bleach solution. Always remember to completely sanitize this plug if you plan on sharing it with a partner.

It is important to never use a silicone based lubricant with a silicone toy, as this could result in damage to the toy such as making it tacky or warped. As I mention in all my reviews, I use a water based lubricant with all my toys since it is safe under all circumstances. This plug may also be used with an oil based lube.

I have been keeping this stored in its original packaging. It's very easy to pull out the plastic clam shell, place the toy in it and slide it back in the box. I also like the fact that it is contained from other toys.

The Mood Naughty anal plug comes in a brightly colored, fun looking box. It is black cardboard with a white interior and multicolored polka dots. The toy itself rests in a plastic clam shell case so the toy is visible in the packaging.

The packaging is so fun that I do feel it could be gifted in its original package, as long as it is a close friend or partner.

My only previous experience with anal plugs was EdenFantasy's Beginner Anal Kit. I quite enjoyed it but found that the large, rounded bases of those toys didn't make them very functional for use during penetration, as they would easily pop right out. The bases also made them a bit uncomfortable to wear walking around. However, they were a great introductory set of toys.

I lubed up my fingers and got myself warmed up for the toy. It didn't take long, as I was really excited to use it. I gave the entire insertable portion of the plug a good coating with lube and slowly eased it in. It took a couple tries, but they were enjoyable, so I didn't mind. It felt great going in, and once the plug was inserted, I would've thought my ass was a black hole. (Or brown hole? Ha!) It sucked it right in and stayed put nicely. It allowed me to feel satisfyingly full without it being too overpowering. It was comfortable to walk around in and use during penetration.

I don't have a partner at the time being, so I busted out one of my trusty 'ol rabbits. It felt lovely! Other than the base of the plug slightly getting in the way (it is very flexible, so I was able to tuck it down and/or slide it a bit to the side) it felt wonderful and the combination of the two toys in use gave me one of the best orgasms I've had in a long time.
