Best cleaning method?

What's the best method to get germs and bacteria off? Soap? isopropyl alcohol? boiling water?

I usually just rinse my anal toys with soap and water, but if anyone has a better method aside from "toy cleaner" please let me know.

What kind of materials are your toys made of? If it's a glass, silicone or metal dildo/plug, you can boil it in a pot of rolling boil hot water for 3 minutes, or soak it with a 10% bleach solution, or run it through the dishwasher (on the top rack).

I'm guessing that anything non porus should be boiled? I'm a bit lazy and have been slacking on deep cleans lately. The dishwasher seems like a good idea though.

Actually, the easiest way is to soak them in 10% bleach solution -- especially for waterproof toys with electrical components inside -- boiling or dish washing them will damage those parts.

I have a We-Vibe Salsa, but the electrical components don't seem like they're extremely well sealed inside. I'll use them in the shower, but submerging them seems risky.

I've been told to never use isopropyl alcohol on anything but glass.

If you use the dishwasher, use the top rack and don't use the dishwasher soap! No one ever remembers to warn about that, all you need is that hot water, but of course, you wash the toy with soap fist. You are putting it in the dishwasher to do the equivalent of boiling.

My usual, every time cleaning is with soap and water and then I mist them with Clorox Anywhere Spray -- it's already diluted for you! (I have trouble with straight bleach, so I can't do the diluting, don't ask.) I let this dry on them, or have it sit at least several minutes on them and then dry them manually if I don't have time to let them dry on their own.

Why is it bad to use dishwasher detergent if you don't mind me asking?
