Enamel pots are necessary for boiling silicone toys?

Contributor: Leka Leka
Hello!
I have a silicone toy and I want to boil it.
I use a menstrual cup, which is made of silicone too, and I know I only should boil it in an enamel or glass pot.
So I was wondering if that applies to the silicone toys too (I searched and found nothing about)...cone toys either?

I've boiled silicone toys in a 18/10 stainless steel pot with no issues. My guess is that they say ceramic or glass to keep people from boiling in a non-stick pot since there has been concern over the safety of non-stick coatings in cookware. Never thought about that before as far as toys...I'd say definitely not in a coated pot, but I don't see why not in a stainless steel pot, imo.
