Buy anal toys that have good heads, long slim necks, and good bases to prevent the entire toy from slipping inside you. Start nice and slow with a finger before using an actual toy, and with lots of lube.

First time beginner? Fingers with cut nails and lube. Wear a glove if you want to.

They're available, soft, warm and provide good feedback.

Once you've played with fingers for a while figure out if you like thrusting play or prefer stationary toys. That will show you what direction you want to go next (dildo/probe vs plug).

Or all of the above. I like dildos and I like plugs as well but I do prefer in rather than in/out.
