Good lube for anal?

Contributor: Boyqueen Boyqueen
My boyfriend and I (boy trans guys) wanna start trying anal. We've given it a try a few times but the both of us experience a burning sensation. We start slow, use lots of lube, and make sure we're relaxed, but the burning feeling remains. We're thinking it might be the lube.

Have you tried a silicone lube?

The only water based lubes that I like for anal play are the gel ones, and even then I only use them with toys. For actual anal sex I use a silicone based lube.

It also might help to work your way up to anal penetration. Perhaps use fingers, plugs, probes, beads or even a smaller dildo. This might help to get you ready for bigger things.

Yes the silicone lubes are wonderful. The best I have ever used for anal sex is Pjur. There are several different types of Pjur lubes now, including ones made for anal sex, but I always stick to the original since I know what I'm getting.

on my first time, i started with pjur silicone and then added a layer of water based gel on top. Also starting out with a plug to stretch out first helps.

To echo what has been said. If I'm not using a silicone toy in some way, Pjur Original silicone lube all the way (for anal, vaginal and handjobs). Silicone is particularly nice for anal, since the anus absorbs water easily and doesn't produce it's own lubricant (ie. silicone lube will last and you won't need to keep re-applying it).

It could be the lube...and I'll echo everyone else in saying to try silicone lubricant. Obviously, as SSaF mentioned, do not use silicone toys with silicone lube. I have never tried pjur lube but we love Swiss Navy Silicone Lubricant.

It could also be that you just aren't relaxed enough. Is the burning sensation INSIDE? If so, I'd say it's the lube. If you're experiencing burning more during insertion then it could just be your sphincter stretching to accommodate the penis entering it.

My husband and I have been having anal sex for years now and I still notice that slight burning sensation. It doesn't last long as serves as sort of an alarm that I'm not relaxed as much as I think I am. The feeling always goes away once we really get into it and he's fully inside me (even if getting to THAT point takes 20 mins...).

I would recommend getting a good silicone lube as well as a small butt plug and/or some anal beads to begin. Play with eachother first and take your time. I've found that the more aroused I am, the easier anal sex is.

I like the "maximus" brand, nice and thick.

I never have issues with basic KY burning usually; however, when I insert something too large too fast I get the burning sensations. So could be you aren't as relaxed as you need to be or didn't do enough foreplay leading up to PIA penetration.

I really like Sliquid Sassy lube for anal. It is in the water based gel style of lube (similar to Maximus in consistency). Sassy also offers the benefits of being mostly natural and being glycerin and paraben free.

I tend to warm up my partner with silicone toys before actual penetration so water based is key for me. Mind you I did have success with my ex-girlfriend and silicone lube as she only needed some warming up with fingers before I inserted so no silicone toys used. It has the benefit of staying slicker longer and once it's coated a surface it stays slick. This offers long lasting anal lubrication.
