This depends, have you ever inserted anything anally before? Personally, I think Ryder is a bit on the larger side for a 100% anal virgin.

I've used fingers before but this would be the first toy

How many fingers? The Ryder is 1 1/2" diameter. That's like four of my fingers at the second knuckle.

I would say start with something around one inch, and don't forget the lube.

I've inserted 2 so far but I think 3 would still be comfortable

Ryder is very comfortable when inserted, but the tip is a bit blunter than other plugs. If you can take 2-3 fingers comfortably you can probably use the Ryder after some warm-up if you go slow and relax.

Keep in mind how you're going to use it. The Ryder is definitely a stay-in-place plug - the body shape and base design minimize your opportunities for thrusting or wiggling.

Yeh I'm definately looking for a stay in place plug, just wasn't sure if it would be to big.

Like ScottA said go slow, do not rush it, plenty of warm up and relax. The silicone will give somewhat so that helps. If nothing else it will give you something to work up to.

I just read a review about a glass plug that I have that the reviewer stated that this was their first plug. It is 1 1/2" diameter, but has taken me two months to get there.

Like they say "Your mileage may very".

Glass is much more difficult to insert for a given size. I usually have no problems popping 1-1/2" silicone toys in, but glass always takes just a little longer to work inside.

Yes that is so true. I have a silicone dildo that is 1 1/4" and only need some fingers to warn up to it, the glass takes some time, usually about 30 minutes of vigorous thrusting before the glass one will go in without some discomfort. The glass just feels about a inch bigger, even though it is only a quarter of an inch bigger.

My problem know is I love silicone and I love glass as well. Deciding between the two can be hard sometimes. I even asked the wife one night because I could not decide. HAHA
