I've only done anal solo, but the largest size I've ever accommodated was 1.75 inches in diameter (it was the Classic Butt Plug by Doc Johnson). I was quite surprised I was able to take that, but it's not a size I typically play around with. These days, the maximum size I use is 1.375 to 1.5 inches in diameter. I'm thinking about trying the 1.75 size again. I don't want to go beyond that.

A couple of years later I purchased the Rambone, which is 8.5" around at its thickest point, and the other one was 10" around at its thickest, which was at the head. The shaft was 9" around.
Since I used other thick toys during the previous weeks and months, I was able to take the thickest one during the first play session without using any other toys to warm up. I liked it when penetration hurted just a little , but I didn't keep pushing if it was serious pain.

2.5" dia. is the biggest so far. I haven't had the guts to go bigger. Some folks say they can go really deep but for me much more than 8" is as far as it will go. I wish I could go deeper but no dice. I don't want to go hurting myself.
