Green difference in silicone?
Are there differences between companies that produce silicone toys? Are some of them safer/more environmental friendly/better quality than others?

I believe it's because the typical dishwashing detergents are too harsh and abrasive for the silicone of the toys - when you wash them by hand you use a mild, non-abrasive soap. For Vixskin in particular, but for all of my silicone toys, I would be afraid the detergent would damage the surface.

You can use detergent as far as I know. I use dish soap on mine. Note that dishwashing may not sterilize though.

I wouldn't want the possible remnants of leftover dish detergent going inside of my body!
