Caring for rubber dildos?

Contributor: edenx edenx
sorry, did a search and there was a lot of info on hiding places and where people keep their toys

...but what is the best way to store rubber dildos?

our cyber cocks are a dream; washed before and after each use with anti-bacterial soap, and toy cleaner, then pure talc in a ziplock in a cool dark drawer.

should the rubber toys go through the same routine (we use a condom) of storing them in talc? ziplock bag?

appreciate any help, thanks

First off, please do not use talc. It has been linked to cancer, better, and cheaper, is to use cornstarch. link

Yes, you can store it just like your other toys. Main thing is to keep it from touching other materials.

If it's absolutely dry then a ziplock can work just fine.

Expanding on what Tim said: Talc is often contaminated with asbestos.

The big thing is to be careful what gets on them. Oils of any sort will start to degrade them. They'll probably only last for a couple of years anyway - for your newer toys I'd strongly recommend springing for silicone.

Since both rubber and CyberSkin are porous you might want to think about the antibacterial soap. Unless you follow the instructions to the letter it isn't effective, and the chemicals are potential sensitizers. Since you're using a dildo perhaps just regular soap.

Thanks to you both for your thoughtful responses. And you're right on the talc vs corn starch, i miss "spoke," we use pure corn starch.

We do not share with anyone, and rarely go anal (definite condom time, and no mixing during session). We do not use a condom with the cyber skin, my wife goes crazy over these, she loves they are long yet slim, and feel real. We always clean immediately after use, first with warm water and anti-bacterial soap, then finish with a toy cleaner.

Thanks, Sam, Tim and Scott!
