As long as you're holding the toy still and not moving it around a bunch, the ribs shouldn't matter. But if you like to rub toys against yourself, you might prefer a smoother one.

I second girly juice, it depends on whether you;re rubbing or just holding it there.

I'm usually a big fan of texture, but I'm not a big fan of the ribs on the Mystic Wand. That said, you can angle it to make use of the smooth part. And the ribs feel fantastic for shoulder massages.

I hate ribbing myself, but it all depends on what you like....

I like those really big, bumpy ridges, but I'm guessing then that that is not really ribbing, hahaha.

My wife likes wands to be held steady, so probably wouldn't make much of a difference. It all comes down to preference as always.

I prefer ribbing, it gives it a little something extra.

I've tried both with ribs and without, and I think I prefer without. That said, it doesn't help that my ribbed wand's head is kind of hard plastic.. if it was soft silicone, I imagine it wouldn't hurt at all. Right now, it kind of rubs me raw if I really go at it, but it's not unbearable.
