Size. How do you know which size of dildo would be best for you?

My girlfriend & I are both very tight. I'm not sure what size of dildo to get. We don't want something massive obviously, but we want something that will feel good. Help?

Insightful breakdown of Dildo Sizes:

What size condom can go on this toy?
so I can use it during my period...what condom on EF would be best?

Size matters
I'm looking for a great dildo with a large girth. Preferably something that vibrates

What size is good for a newbie?
I have only used dildos a few times and I find the bigger ones to just plain hurt so what dildos would you recomend to someone who wants something...

Size
Whats the biggest you have taken? Kong the realistic is ours.

How to tell the size of a toy?
Okay this may seem like a dumb question, especially to those who are smart in Math. Sorry I'm not! I pretty much know nothing when it comes to...

Start with something that's an inch in diameter, silicone, and has a slight curve to it.

Length I imagine is less of an issue for now.

get a few different sizes, maybe some lower price options, until you find out what size works best for you.

A lot of the dildo buying guides I've read recommend using your finger(s) to get an idea of the diameter and/or girth. Usually 1 or 2 fingers is a good starting point, so you wrap a measuring tape around those fingers and go with that number. Length is less of an issue since you only insert what you're comfortable with.

I'd like to warn you to watch out for the material you choose. Materials like glass and metal have no give, so I avoid them, but even in sticking with silicone there's such a variety of firmness that I've found that toys with the exact same measurements can still feel different in use.

My vaginal opening is stubborn, but I like feeling full (not stretched!) and G-Spot stimulation. Here are some toys that I found easy to manage (as far as girth goes):
Tantus Acute
Lelo Ella
Tantus Charmer

I use a thick water-based lube with my toys, and I only insert them after making sure I'm aroused, to keep from injuring myself. I wish you and your loved one luck and pleasure in finding what works for each of you

Size is a big factor, but you should also take a few other criteria into consideration. For us, shape and texture make a big difference. Shapes can vary greatly. Straight or curved? Is there a pronounced ridge on the head? Is it pointy or blunt? Does the thickness run the entire length or is it tapered? As others have stated the material choice can also make a huge difference. I agree with RonLee it will take trial and error to find the best size for your needs.

If you are looking for specific recommendations, I'd suggest starting with a tapered silicone toy close to whatever size you feel will be closest to your comfort level. We started with a toy that was 1 1/4" diameter and it worked quite well for us. With that said, we now have dozens of dildos. We have truly enjoyed the trial and error process.

Have fun!

Thanks for asking the question. I am new to using sex toys and was wondering the same thing.

One way is to get a tapered dildo like the Tantus Champlette. See how much you can take - then try some that are similar in size. In general you can use a larger dildo if they are soft like Vixskin vs. hard like plastic, glass - even hard silicone.

Personally... I would say get yourself a few cheaper toys and try those out for size. That way, you've got a small collection started, and you'll know for certain which feels good for you and your girlfriend. The biggest thing to think about is, what is good for you, might not be good for your girlfriend. For example; one of you might like girthier toys for those types of sensation and the other might prefer clit massagers.

Yes, the trying one and another part can be fun and indeed we have a rather large collection now too.
LOL!
