Tear In Silicone Material?

Contributor: Red Vinyl Kitty Red Vinyl Kitty
Hey Guys, I did a search, but didn't find the answer to my question. I'm sorry if I missed something.

At any rate, I have the Tantus VIP Super Soft, and it is very, very soft. Unfortunately, it is so soft that it actually got a small cut in the side. I'm talking a milimeter or two. Tiny. I pulled that little piece right off, but there's now a tiny imperfection in the material.

Is the toy still safe to use? Do you think I should just throw a condom on it and call it a day? I know silicone is not porous, but now that the material isn't perfect, I'm worried it'll harbor bacteria. Can I boil it after every use and just keep going? It's such a nice dildo, I hate to waste it, but I just don't know what to do with this.

Thoughts?

I like silicone's texture better, but water based is by far safer. Water based dries up easier, though.

Silicone should be non-porous throughout so you should be fine as long as no residue gets stuck in the defect.

Thanks Kindred. I was thinking as such, but wasn't 100% sure on that.

hmmm...I think it'd still be ok to use, as long as it doesn't irritate.

Too bad there isn't dildo-bondo!

I agree with Kindred and JR!

The super soft, O2 and vixskin tend to be more sensitive to cuts or tears but I don't think it will cause any issues health wise.

There was a thread exactly like this the other day about a cut in someone's O2 toy. The toy is completely safe. The silicone is solid all the way through.
