I would choose the wood over the glass simply because I already one a glass dildo and I seldom use it.

I have never tried wood or glass toys yet. But I think I would pick the glass one (Athena) over the wood one.

Out of the two, I'd rather you buy the Athena glass dildo, simply because the material's safer for your body. I'm not telling you not to try wood dildos, but please make sure the wooden toys of your choice have a "body safe" finish; the Handcrafted wooden dildo #197 only have a few layers of "food safe" coating, and that's absolutely not enough protection for your precious parts. If you're interested in wooden dildos, try the ones made by NobEssence, their wooden toys are coated with a "body safe" sealant.

The finish on wood dildos makes me nervous in very principle. I can think of so many ways wood can go wrong, but when something glass is unusable you'll know it immediately XD

I'd try the wood since I already have a glass one, but material wise I prefer glass, its so incredibly easy to clean, and the weight is nice.

You're very welcome. If you are interested in trying wooden dildos, check out the NobEssence Fling and the Smooth S Shape, they're both highly praised by Eden's wooden toy connoisseurs.

Wood is "warm" and has a unique feel, but needs the most care.

Breaking is not as big an issue as it getting scratched or gouged in storage and then becoming porous to germs and lube.

The wood toys are so heavily "sealed" and glossy, they almost feel like glass or plastic, but they are "warm" to the touch.

I think glass is a great hard dildo substance. It is cheaper than stainless steel (which you should get!) or wood.

On that note, Athena is way too expensive. There are other glass toys in the 30-40 dollar range or cheaper that are high-quality.

I was all about glass toys (non porous, which is wood's major drawback in my opinion) when I had a glass toy break during a party last week. Thankfully no one was injured, but it's still scary.

Glass is still pretty though.

Glass is cooler and you need to remember to warm it up before use. Wood feels more natural and warm.
However, I'd always go for the glass as it's easier to clean and I wouldn't always have to think about germs and bacteria growing on my toy (I prefer usage without a condom).

The idea of wooden sexy toys make me a bit skeptical. It gives me images of splinters in intimate places. I feel like I would just avoid all the trouble of trying to find a wooden toy that is made well enough to enter my body and just buy a glass toy.

I've never used wood toys but I prefer glass purely for sanitation purposes. It's like how I wear more glass ear plugs over organics because it can have an increased chance of harboring bacteria.

Glass Earplugs? That's new to me. Oh wait, you meant this
Blue Swirl
Glass Pebbles
Quick Brown Fox Jumps and I was thinking this
Corded Hearing Safety or this
Rock Concert but only made in glass. I was thinking the second set of pictures couldn't be comfortable if they were made out of glass.

My Bad! Nothing to see here.

When I think about wooden sex toys, the only image that comes to mind is splinters in places you do NOT want splinters. Rationally, I know that they are made so you will not experience that problems but I still cannot think of anything else.

I have over 10 glass toys and love them all for their firmness, weight and ease of cleaning/sterilizing. I haven't tried wood but I doubt I ever will, it just doesn't appeal to me like glass does. I'm not entirely sure why but maybe it has something to do with how beautiful glass looks.

I do have wood toys but I much prefer glass.

The reason being the care required to keep penetrative wooden toys clean is a lot of work, that is if they are unsealed or raw wood grain finished. I mean you can slip a condom over them but you may as well use a latex toy instead if your not experiencing the wood itself.

But glass toys are easy to care for, can be heated or cooled with relative easy. Safe in the bath and have no way of electrocuting you if your using other gear at the same time unlike metal or stainless

That said I have to admit that their is nothing like a good quality hand crafted dildo or dong when used correctly. It feels so different compared to any other material.

That is my view anyway.
