Need extra moisture! Help with choosing a lubricant..

Contributor: arl146 arl146
I've been looking at this Sliquid Organics Gel. I've been having issues with staying naturally lubricated so I was wondering if anyone has tried this and gives it a thumbs up, or if there is anything better. I am really concerned with allergies so a lubricant I choose must be hypo-allergenic! I'm also not sure how I feel about the parabens and all that quite yet ..
Any help would be appreciated!

Though I haven't tried that type myself, if you're concerned with allergies I'd say it's worth a shot. Stick with organics or anything that says hypo-allergenic (most water based lubricants should be hypo-allergenic).

Do some research on parabens, there's concern they may be linked to cancers (research has found parabens in tumors) and they can mimic estrogen which, especially in your lady bits, seems like a bad idea. I've cut parabens from almost all of my personal care products (soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, toothpastes, they're in nearly everything, yikes!) Glycerin is another thing to avoid, it can cause vaginal infections. I like Yes because it's the correct pH which helps balance everything down there. Imbalances caused by diet, sex, menstruation, hormones, foreign substances, etc. are a main contributing factor in infections and having a product that helps balance as well as being an excellent hypoallergenic lubricant is a real plus for me. Sliquid is a good close second which is what I would turn to if I couldn't get Yes. The statement above that most water based lubes are hypoallergenic is simply not true. Eden carries 158 water based lubricant products. Simply selecting hypoallergenic in the "refine by" options narrows the search to 25 items. Eliminating glycerin takes you down to 12. Eliminating parabens and petro-chemicals takes you down to 6, 4 of which are sliquid products, 1 of which is their "silk" which is a silicone/water hybrid so it's not safe on silicone toys. Sliquid Organics natural or Organics natural gel is your best bet from them.

I like ID Moments water-based. It's also paraben and glycerin free and pH balanced. You can find my review and the product here, along with a description of the ingredients.

Sliquid Organics seems to have a shorter ingredient list, but I wouldn't expect it to last as long or perform as well as some of the more advanced lubes. But if that's less of a concern for you, then I see nothing wrong with the Sliquid Organics either. You may just have to reapply more often or refresh with water.

JO H2O is a good one. Also, wet stuff is a great lube for all natural type of ingredients. But its not sold on this site, so you will have to look for it.
