We’re looking for a new lube for anal sex. With so many options on the market, I’m not sure whether to choose a simple plain formula (of course, EdenFantasys option is a priority) or to try something with warming, cooling, tingling effect? I also know that silicone base works better than water base when it comes to anal sex.

What're your preferences, guys?

i usually prefer lubes from anal category link that are intended for anal play. Water-based with a thicker formula of silicone-based - depends on the toy i use (water-based with silicone toys).

I'm sure the rectum will "clean " itself, but I'm afraid of silicone hanging around. That said, I have never used silicone based lube.

My wife has never been a fan of water-based lubes - so I have no advice there. Initially we used silicone lubes - nothing can beat the lubricity and staying power of silicone. However, after anal sex I would get the urgency to urinate that mimicked a UTI. Urinating after sex is obviously recommended to flush things out that may have gotten into the wrong place - but the burning from the silicone was persistent.

We then found a plant-oil based formula called 'Yes' from the UK. My wife much preferred this formula - but it is rather expensive. BTW - Yes also makes a water-based formula and both are certified for purity by European regulators.

As I've stated many times before - our only lubricant these days is coconut oil. Solid at room temperature, it melts instantly on contact with skin. If there is a down side, it's that re-application may be required more than other products. But it's my experience that once the skin is saturated, the oil is no longer absorbed and stay on top of the skin making for an effective lubricant.

My wife says she has the best moisturized girl-parts on the planet!

Some have commented about staining - we have not had this problem because we use a cadre of blankets and towels that are exclusive to our sexual needs.

OH&W, Lovebears, I think the only issue with the water-based lube is that you have to reapply it often..

Gunsmoke, I've read about coconut oil in other threads and it really seems promising. Eden also carries a hybrid formula I'd be interested to try out- the JO coconut hybrid lube

Aside from being out of stock - it costs about 20x what coconut oil costs. That's money that can be used to buy more fun toys - maybe even some new candles

I just bought a silicone based lube and plan on using it this weekend. Water base lube doesn't seem to last long enough. Once I have a plug inserted it seems to be gone by the time I want him to enter or have an anal dildo inserted. I love anal but I hate the feeling without lube. So I will see how it goes with the new silicone one I bought this weekend.

What material is your dildo made of? Please make sure not to use silicone lubes with silicone toys

if you're not using condoms, then i recommend coconut oil. If you're using condoms, then Silicone.

I know some swear by coconut oil. We got some for that reason. She doesn't like the smell and found it to be a little running. And Leaves oil stains.
