Why do you need to use lube?

Not everyone produces enough natural lubrication to make penetration comfortable.

This. For example, some birth control pills can make it very hard to produce enough lubrication. I stocked up on lube because I was on Beyaz, but now I have Mirena and I don't need it anymore!

The only time I use lube for vaginal play is with toys, while I produce great amounts of natural lubricant it is always easier using Silicone toys with extra lube to help.

Different women produce different amounts of lubrication. Along with individual differences (some women are just naturally dryer or wetter), things like diet, age, medication, and stress levels can affect how much moisture your body produces.
Also, in dealing with a partner or toy on the larger side, lube can really help things along. Same for toys that have more drag to them.

But it's not just BC. some women are just naturally not that wet. Implying that every woman should be (not that you are) is exclusive and ignorant.

I get very wet and am a sheet soaker, but my natural lubricant leaves too much friction on my clit, and I like the slickness and long lastingness of synthetic lubes. I never used to use it but I have found I come much faster and enjoy it more with lube. Otherwise I find that I need my clit to be wetter and wetter and have to keep asking my partner to get more of my wetness. With lube it just stays there.
Lubes with special effects like tingling are pretty nice too.

We use lube mostly with toys and anal

Sometimes I can produce enough natural lubrication that I don’t need to use lube, but that isn’t always the case. Now I have started birth control again, I am finding it hard to stay wet enough for comfortable penetration.
I have the same problem if I have more than one glass of wine.
If it has been a hot day or I worked hard at the gym and I am dehydrated I can find it hard to get wet.
Sometime women just need a little help

Sometime added lubrication can spice up vaginal sex.

Even if you have enough natural lube, sometimes it doesn't last as long as you'd like, and that's when the synthetic lube comes in! Yay! Plus, they come in different flavors, and you have tingle options (like the heated stuff). If lube isn't for you for sex, try it for a back rub (or a hand job). It feels awesome, is great foreplay, and you found another use for the lube. Wins all around

Also, some just like it extra-slippery.

Condoms and sex toys (even condoms that claim to be already lubricated) have too much "drag", the bad kind of friction. I have to use lube with them, and I've always been pretty wet. And many people are not in the kind of committed, long term relationship where going bareback is safe. I'm not right now, and I think my situation is pretty common for a 20something. Glass dildos are the only thing I can use for sex that I don't need lube for.

For vaginal sex I never use lube. I produce too much lubrication I think, sometimes. However, with anal, I need lube.

My wife and I finally did some research on hormonal birth control and got her off the pills 4 months ago. Bottomline: we're now wondering the same thing regarding lubricants.
Our sex life has literally gone from "ouch, I just can't get too wet any more, sorry" to "OMG, I literally soaked my panties at work today and had to change them at lunch I was so horny, what's going on with me?"
All hormonal birth control causes a massive increase in a protein SHBG (Sex hormone-binding globulin) that binds to testosterone and doesn't allow it freely in the bloodstream, tricking your body into thinking it's pregnant.
After 5-6 months of cumulative SHBG build up, the woman will have increasingly less free testosterone in her blood which has a slow yet very measurable effect on sexual function as testosterone in women controls libido and lubrication.

There may also be the aspect of maintaining a sufficient level of lubrication during an extended session of intercourse. I've seldom been a "minute man" but as I've gotten older, it's taken even longer for me to cum. So reapplying lube during a forty five minute or more session, pretty much is a must do sort of thing. Friction is nice, but I don't want my partner to be sore later.

When I do use lube I use it for the same reason. Sometimes it just feels better and makes everything easier.

Sometimes it's easier to use lubrication. I know on the days hubby and I want a quicky, and we want it NOW, and I'm not wet enough, we'll use lubrication. And anal...no lube no anal.
